Ted Cruz HAS the charm of Barry Goldwater, the ethics of Richard Nixon and the backbone of Mitt Romney.

Donald Trump is America’s last hope. GO TRUMP!

Transcript of “Ted Cruz: Donald Trump is Responsible for What Happened in Chicago!” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmxBp4IFe_I

... be here and energy were seeing on the ground at the grassroots enthusiasm. What we’re seeing we’re seeing republicans unifying behind our campaign. We’re seeing republicans coming together. This race has become a two-person race between me and Donald Trump more republicans are unified behind our campaign.

And I also want to mention something about the events this evening. This is a sad day. Political discourse should occur in the country without a threat of violence. Without anger and rage and hatred directed each other. We need to learn have disagreements without being disagreeable. To have disagreements while respecting human being on the other side.

Earlier today over 30 people were arrested at one rally and then tonight as violence broke out the rally was cancelled altogether.

Now responsibility for that lies with protesters who took violence into their own hands.

But any campaign responsibility responsibility starts at the top. Any candidate is responsible for the culture of the campaign. And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discourse.

(reporter question - not clear)

I think that decision should be based on public safety.

But I think it campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment. When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence have punch people in the face the predictable consequence of that is that it escalates and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We saw earlier today in St. Louis over 30 arrested. That’s not how our politics should occur.

You know the city of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days when politics descended into hatred and instability and even violence and it is my hope that in 2016 that we can appeal to our better angels avoid going down that road once more.

what should be dawning but some how gets lost in the clutter is that Republican America doesn’t want a hard core conservative for President. That should be totally apparent by now.

What America apparently wants is a very charismatic leader that defies the common accepted labels.

Cruz didn’t side with them he condemned them He merely pointed out that trumps level of rhetoric does not help the situation

Cruz did not merely point out anything. He did this for calculated political advantage. That is what the Cruz campaign does. It is all about Ted, which is not even his name. Why does he run from his name ? Rafael is a holy name.

Cruz' campaign is centered on him, witness TrusTed as its premiere slogan. Trump's is based on America with Make America Great Again, and that makes all the difference as far as this veteran is concerned.

“Even when Cruz is answering questions from the press, he is in debate mode.. Long anguished pauses between bits of prepared words. Does he ever say anything off the cuff??”

I wonder about that too - is he that way even when he is at home? Maybe that’s part of what bugs me about him. I never see a truly relaxed, natural moment where he is just being himself. What’s he working so hard to hide that he can never let the mask slip just a little?

It could simply be a self-confidence issue. Hard to say.

This is such a blessing in disguise for Trump. All the voters can see the enemies of the country for themselves and they all have Bernie Sanders and Hillary signs. People can see what the anti-Trump forces want for the country. They do not have to wait to be told in dull speeches by candidates what will happen. They can see for themselves.

I wonder how many people are thinking now whom do I vote for? Cruz/Rubio/Kasich who are siding with the protesters or Trump who is showing unbelievable courage, facing the thugs, and staring them down.

We already have "use of force" laws on the books for public safety. The Trump campaign violates none of them. Therefore, what you "think" has no bearing on situation.

Well, I certainly don’t see anything to disagree with there. I’ve noticed that the number of “brown shirts” at Trump rally’s seems to be on the steady rise. They are not anywhere close to the majority, but it is something to watch.

I confess that a Trump rally in Chicago would have probably been great television. It speaks, a bit to my three year old tag line, which a agree with now even more than when I first started using it.

That also hints at why I see this election as rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

He sided with the protesters.

No.

Cruz first blamed the protestors.

It is not a prerequisite that Free Speech “help the situation”. Sometimes, harsh things must be said. The question is whether Cruz, the Constitutional lawyer, knows how to defend the 1st Amendment or not. He failed in my book.

Well stated.

“Yeah, Trump is a narcissist. That’s why he’s sacrificing his name, his business, his fortune, and possibly his life for running for a job that pays only $200,000 a year and gets scrutinized like no other.”

Well said.

Yes. One sentence. Followed by two paragraphs of blaming Trump for creating “an environment”.

Maybe this will help clarify things: http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3408636/posts

How sad to see the “hard” right combine wirh the elite and the communist left to achieve the destruction of the working middle class.

Buckley’s National Review is in on too. Unbelievable. He’s rolling over in his grave, no doubt.

So how is Trump's ‘rhetoric’ applied to BLM etc. burning cities long before he started running for President?

The Geller thing still stands. Since he was not a public figure as such at that time he should have kept his trap shut. It is getting amusing every day to read about the latest outrage against poor Donald Trump!!!

It amazes me that William Ayers can walk down any street in the USA safely. It would take God’s hand to still mine were I to see him in public.

“He merely pointed out that trumps level of rhetoric does not help the situation which by the way is a true statement”

What has Trump’s rhetoric got to do with them cursing the police, flying Mexican flags, flying communist flags, etc.?

Bill Ayres was there protesting, a man who was a terrorist and who tried to kill people with terrorist bombs. Obama’s good friend.
