Voters Slam Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio for Blaming Chicago Rally Shutdown on Donald Trump

Supporters of Sens. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) took to social media to slam the freshman senators for blaming leftists shutting down a Trump Chicago rally on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.

“I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment, when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence — to punch people in the face. The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We earlier today in St. Louis over thirty arrested. That’s not how our politics should occur,” Cruz said Friday. “You know, the City of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days when politics descended into hatred and incivility and even violence and it is my hope that in 2016 that we can appeal to our better angels and avoid going down that road once again.”

Cruz supporters, incensed by the Texas senator’s blame game, stormed social media to express their anger. Top comments on a Friday Facebook post promoting a Cruz “victory fund” drew furious responses (comments quoted here are unedited):

Jerry Shalow: Cruz you lost my vote for using this protest for your political game. Rubio also. Trump has my vote. How about the violations of the 1st amendment TED!!!!!!! Condone the violence what you just did.

Pappy Beagles: I’m a Texan, I voted for you for the senate, and was supporting you for president, up until you blamed Trump for the savage behavior of Hillary and Bernie supporters in Chicago. I just sent a $100.00 contribution to a billionaire, and i’m retired on a fixed income, so guess this is goodbye to you, and I am now firmly on the Trump wagon.

Gayle Natale: Mr. Cruz, I just listened to your response regarding the protestors who caused

Yes, it was dumb to blame Trump for it. But it was also dumb for Trump to blame Pamela Geller for inciting Muslims with the Draw Mohammed Cartoon conention in Texas. Same thing, but the Trumpsters seem to forget that part.

.

Doesn't anybody remember that it all began with "Black Lives Matter" protesters at a Bernie Sanders rally when Sanders let the protesters take over his stage and microphone?

Trump said that was a lack of leadership and he would never let protesters take over his microphone.

That was taken as a challenge by the protesters to ramp up their agression at Trump rallies.

But it was originally a weakness of Sanders that started it all. Now they find it convenient to blame Trump for it.

ou will take Rubio, Kasich, Cruz, before Trump. Solid answer.

Close. I will vote for any of those three. If Trump is the nominee, I will be one of millions of conservatives who vote for someone else, whether write-in, libertarian, Constitution Party, or other, or simply stay home. I will not be a part of putting Trump in that position.

So you believe the Move On and the Revolutionary Communist Party who say Trump is a fascist. That’s pretty pathetic. If you know something about Polyscience 101 (which I received an A+ on my senior thesis), the political spectrum puts fascists on the far left. They are the totalitarians, the Nazis, the Communists, the dictators and everything that uses Big Government to rule over people. The spectrum goes from the Left to the Right with the anarchists on the far right. In the middle are the Constitutionalists, the rule of law, Conservatives and Democracy. Trump is in the middle with them. He wants government to be for the people and not the people subservient to the government.

To think Trump wants Big Government, totalitarian rule is stupid fantasy. You are falling for the Communists who try to fuzz up the thinking so it confuses people like you about who they really are and who the good guys are. It is being gullible to the propaganda of the Left. It is that simple.

Wear it and love it. What is it they said back then too, you are entitled to your own opinions but you are not entitled to your own facts.

Flame wars of the 90’s? You mean that time when everybody was on dialup and AOL (Ain’t On Line). I would have gone to sleep just in anticipation of the next post on a bulletin board.

I don’t know what Move On or the Revolutionary Communist Party calls Trump. I don’t follow them. I do know what fascism looks like. And Trump and his followers look a lot like it. Thank you for telling me how smart you are. Otherwise, I would not have figured it out based on your postings.

Obviously, you have not even read what Ted Cruz said about Donald Trump because the facts are not your friend on this one.

What Ted Cruz said was truthful and spot on. It was also tone deaf and unhelpful to his campaign.

Regardless, Cruz will pay a huge price and probably lose the nomination because it. Things really seem to be going sideways for Cruz lately - coincidentally at exactly the time Neil Bush joined his campaign.

Todays attack on Trump by a communist, ISIS supporting and Obama BLM operative has just shot down and shut down the whole media meme on Donald Trump and given him the high ground on the issue.

That is, except for the Democrat agitators . The have seized on Trumps comments and will use them to rally support and justify their disruption and violence at Trump campaign events until the end of the election.

THAT is the point Cruz was making and he is spot on and 100% correct. BTW, Cruz is much better at dealing with agitators that Trump.

Reagan was great at looking at large problems and doing a quick analysis and often a simple solution.

I don’t know, Marty, what do you want to do tonight?

I don’t know, Ange, what do you want to do?

Marty: I know, let’s go out and blame some crimes on the victims, that’d be fun.

Ange: Yeah, we could find some victims we don’t like because of their political choices, that’d really be fun!

Marty: Yeah, let’s do it!

“I wish those of us who support Cruz were as free to post here as trump supporters”

-—That has to be the biggest LOL moment in Free Republic history! This whole web site for months now has been nothing but one Cruz thread after another. The same Cruz stories get posted endlessly, and frankly, many Cruz supporters are worse then Dem Underground, so to make that kind of statement is just ridiculous
