A better camera angle is out, it’s taken from higher up. Behind the stage is a latge open area with barriers. The man jumped the barriers and rushed the stage, but the USSS stopped him.

Apology accepted! I was thinking today about what happened nearly 20 years ago when a gunman nearly shot Tom Delay at his Washington, DC office (he did kill others).

At the time, Delay was House Majority Leader and was considered the most polarizing figure in DC. What I remember more than anything else was Congressman Gene Green’s response. Green was (and is) a liberal Democrat from Houston (always votes with Pelosi), so he could have EASILY blamed the shooting, in part, on Delay’s ‘abrasiveness’ and ‘tone’. Instead he said something to the effect of:
“Today, we are all Texans and party means NOTHING to us. This was an attack on our country, our constitution.”
Would it have been THAT HARD for Cruz to say something similar, considering that Cruz is a CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLAR and thus should be able to figure out the significance of silencing Trump in that manner?
This was a HANGING CURVE BALL for Cruz to whack out of the park - but now he likely lost his last chance to be nominated over it.
