“”It is insanely expensive during the general.””

I’ve heard a billion dollars reported several times. That is absolute sheer insanity! Surely Trump wouldn’t give up a billion dollars for that job! I forget who was speculating on it on TV but that is just nuts!

As usual wrong.

You listened to “an unnamed source” in the media tell you that is what Trump is thinking. Trump did not actually say any such thing

I know ... he said that. But I think this has to do with SuperPACs. I plan to continue to donate to his campaign, but also need to watch out for not going over legal maximum limits. I think he is being out spent in a huge way - in the general he will be out spent in a monstrous way So I know what he is saying and what he means, but I will do whatever I can to help out as far as donations and such anyway.

That’s the deal I’ve suggested he make with the RNC. Get out of my way and stop the negative ads and I’ll raise my own general election money, leaving you to focus on down ticket races.

It’s probably the best they can hope for, and more than they deserve, but this would allow them to keep the Party machine intact. If they say no, then blow it all to hell.

He feels confident that he can keep all the Romney states, plus then ONLY have to flip these 5 states to get to 273:

MI
OH
FL
NC
NH

It’s definitely worth the gamble, since he knows the GOPe will have their own SuperPacs to do whatever they want.

“No more debates...People know their positions”

While they all want to prescribe antibiotics, it’s time they tell us which ones. Quite frankly the generalities from Trump thus far are boring and unenlightening. I was glad to hear Rubio and Cruz get into specific solutions re Trade, Israel and Cuba.

Post 25 is spot on - that is the clear path for Trump in the general and it allows him to put Hillary on the defensive.

If he doesn’t take campaign money from the GOP for the General Election, Trump will get crushed. No way he can self-fund a run against Hillary and the DNC.

It was the headline on Fox after Trump said it.

Why must you tesort to such dishonesty are you a democrat troll or just a Cruz/Rubio glue sniffer?

he’s not self funding now...he is loaning money to the campaign to be paid back in the general. I fhe was self funding it wouldn’t be a loan....

this is what Ted did in Texas except he borrowed against their retirement accounts

Read the post I was responding to and put it in context. She claimed Trump said he would take fund, now Trump is saying he would not. It was an attempt to accuse Trump of flip flopping.

Trump has never said he would take funds. An unnamed source in a new story CLAIMED Trump would be taking funds for the General, Trump has never said that.

I was merely pointing out the fact that Trump position here is consistent

CNN says Trump is asking, not just minions. Link

I will relish your anguish.

I think I understand Trump's appeal to all sides of the political spectrum. At some point in the campaign Trump has made promises that appeal to Conservatives to Liberals and everything in between. And unless you listen to him 24x7 it's easy to miss when he walks back or changes his position from the one they approved of to an entirely different one.

Doesn’t want does not equal won’t take. He is accepting donations now (not sending them back) and making a profit on selling hats and shirts. For the general I think he’ll cap what any single individual can contribute well below the $2700 limit. With matching funds that will raise enough.

I understood him to actually say he had not made that decision yet... left it open. Did he actually say that? If so I missed it.LOL! which could certainly happen!
