Donald Trump just said he doesn't want campaign funds for the general election.
Which means more money for local races.
Landslide comig.
As a low-information, struggling Trump supporter, I don’t have any money to give, anyway. I live in one of those tiny houses on the prairie. I like to wake up to the sounds of chickens
Game Changer ping...
That’s a Win-Win for the GOP and Trump. But, can trump get them to keep the PAC’s on a leash? There will be those stil attempting to quietly attack.
I am actually watching CNN. Weirdly I find them better this primary. Anyway, the stupid GOPe has probably spent whatever money trump would have used on trump bashing. However, I honestly do believe trump probably doesn’t want to take campaign donations, but I think it has to be a wait and see. It is insanely expensive during the general.
He has said before he wants money for the general election. Now he says he doesn’t. That’ll change a few more times between now and the convention.
Candidates and PACs can’t coordinate, but a candidate can disavow a PAC.
As to the topic of the thread, I guess it’s a good thing Trump doesn’t want their money, since they probably won’t have any left after flushing it all down the toilet trying to stop Trump.
We just have to make sure the GOPe do not use those extra dollars to fight against TEA party candidates in primaries
He also is saying he refuses further debates. That would be unfortunate. Last night’s debate was the first to actually hear policy and solutions. Let’s see Trump and Cruz go one on one.
Me too. It took me a while to even understand what meant when he said it.
Is he talking PAC, or federal election funds?
The head of the RNC said these attacks on Trump will stop and the party will get behind the winner
By law he is prohibited from coordinating with the PACs.
He corrected that and said he thought last night was the last debate when the followup question asked about the next debate.
Well if he took money that would sink him so he has to self finance.
I will relish your anguish.
Cankles hardest hit.
Interesting how we all watch/hear the same speech but hear different things. I didn’t hear him say he won’t take funds for general election. I believe he was speaking about primary and media was speaking about general...and lines got crossed. just my take; may be wrong. we’ll see.
I think I see the strategy. He doesn’t take any campaign fund but all those who want to help him, use the funds they want to give him to Anti Hillary Superpacs.
Allows him to continue to position himself as the “Outsider” going against the Insider, Hillary Clinton
No more debates.
People know the candidates and their positions.
And they can decide for themselves who deserves their vote.
The media doesn’t need to do it for them.
As Trump noted, the media wants debates for the ratings - its a cash cow for them.
Frankly, we’ve all seen and heard enough.
