In an update to a CBS News investigation of the country's largest veterans charity, Wounded Warrior Project, the board has fired the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Operating Officer.
The CBS News investigation raised questions about how the charity spends the millions of dollars it receives in donations each year.
Wounded Warrior Project's CEO, Steven Nardizzi, and COO, Al Giordano, were fired after criticisms from more than 40 employees about how it spends its more than $800 million raised in donations in the past four years.
The allegations include lavish spending by the charity at staff retreats, and other costs, at the expense of programs for veterans.
The charity's board of directors made the decision after meeting this afternoon in New York, Chip Reid reports. Sources tell CBS News the board has received preliminary results of a financial and policy audit, but there are indications that investigation will continue.
There are also discussions underway about retired senior military officials who are being considered to take over the helm of the organization, which has raised more than a billion dollars since its inception in 2003.

Public Broadcasting also comes to mind. You added another excellent point!
We can't forget the Girl Scouts either, and the Red Cross are just as bad!

Too little, too late.
Those two thieving bastids did so much damage to the WWP that I doubt they can recover.
I personally am going to have see more than a damned teddy bear and blanket going to vets before I open my pocket book for them again.
And whoever comes to the helm best express his support for the 2nd Amendment and disavow all the crap of that fool that was in charge.
Then...maybe...MAYBE, I'll get back in touch with them.

I lived the public broadcasting experience although on the state level. On scale, I’m sure it isn’t much different from the federal side.

Here’s a worthy organization that truly helps veterans. I’ve donated four reound-trip SWAA tickets; two went to active-duty veterans to come home for Christmas; two went to an active-duty warrior to visit his best friend’s grave in Arlington. I have personally talked to the founder Sgt. Sowers who is an awesome man. Check it out for yourselves. The money truly goes to active-duty and other veterans.

The secret to us in a tee shirt for gun cleaning is never wash it and use it over, and over, and over. I have one that’s nearly forty, yes forty, years old that I’ve used all that time for gun cleaning. It’s really great for wiping a gun down at the last stage of the cleaning. Leaves a wonderful light coat of oil.

Put any idea of a CBS News investigation of the Clinton Foundation or just Hillary in the “cancelled” shows file ASAP.
However, I think Fox should do a TV series on the Clintons called “Bill and Hillary DO America”. Sponsored by Vasoline and Preparation H.
