There are lots of political machinations going on with the GOP presidential primary. Word is that former Florida Governor and presidential candidate Jeb Bush will be meeting with remaining candidates Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich. We know Neil Bush is a Cruz campaign finance committeeman. And after what can only be referred to as poor performances this past Tuesday, I surmise there are growing behind-the-scenes calls for Rubio and Kasich to exit. Man, there are probably some serious Godfather-type discussions going on.
Heres whats at risk. If Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich remain in this contest and end up losing next week Tuesday in their respective states very probable to Donald Trump, he walks away in those winner take-all-primaries. What that means is Trump gains an even bigger delegate lead which will be even more monumental to overcome.
Now, Rubio and Kasich will respond to the calls to drop out by saying, we got this but thats a gamble some arent willing to take. What I find very interesting is as we recently shared the real losers in this whole episode are the GOP elites and their special interest crony capitalists who benefit from fiascos like the Export-Import Bank and bailouts. The GOP elite have truly found themselves in the predicament of being between the devil and the deep blue sea and it appears theyre going to choose the deep blue sea.

Cruz/Gilmore!!!
I don’t think your scenario is impossible. Kasich has backed off for about a month now from going negative about Trump. The only thing I wonder about is that Senator Portman was at that secret meeting to plot how to steal the nomination from Trump, and he’s endorsed Kasich and probably doing his bidding (or his own).
Historically how common is it for a candidate to choose one of the other candidates as a running mate? IIRC none of the recent ones (Palin, Biden, Gore, GHWB,...) ran for president prior to becoming VP.
Kasich is the most liberal candidate of them all. He is entirely unacceptable to me.
Ummm... Reagan and George H. W. Bush?
Cruz / Bush HELLO PESIDENT HILLARY!!!
Gilmore/Graham.
Surely they will get high polling numbers.......
1980, Reagan choose Bush I
Ah, the G-Men, we have a winner!!!
I don’t believe any of this.
You have to read (or scroll) a lot to get to that.
Whoever gets the nomination is probably going to have to pick somebody with actual government experience, so Carly probably won't get the nod.
Kasich has said specifically that under no circumstances would he be a VP candidate with Trump.
Tho I think it could be a good ticket.
I hope his pass falls to the ground, no way do I want him near the presidency or cabinet.
I see one of two tickets.
Trump/Kacish
Trump/Rubio
The only reason Kacish and Rubio are staying in the race is to audition for the VP slot. I think to Trump, Rubio is a good kid whose parents are morons. (McCain, Graham) Kacish, although also a RINO, is more professional and can carry Ohio for Trump.
All things being equal, the election will come down to Ohio. I would think Trump would want all the firepower he can get there.
Cruz/Beck
Agree, but I’d rather see him with a black VP.
Drive Hillary crazy.
Non-scoffer here. I can see trump Kasich as powerful team, especially of DT wins both Florida and Ohio.
NO WAY. They can’t win. All Trump has to do is pound the point home that Cruz has gone over to “the establishment”.
“GAME OVER MAN”
Cruz would be a TRAITOR to those who supported him as an outsider (that would be all his supporters).
You think Marco Rubio committed political suicide by attacking Trump’s hands, just wait until Cruzers find out Ted sold out to “the establishment”. OH MY!
There is NO PATH for Cruz. He CAN’T win. Getting in bed with “the establishment” as his last, best, and only hope to the nomination is complete and total desperation. A hail Mary pass, except every once in awhile a hail Mary pass is successful (Doug Flutie). This hail Mary pass is certain suicide.
You're right. It's as bad an idea as the Dos Amigos Cruz/Rubio
To win POTUS as a Republican, those two states are just about mandatory.
The fact that Cruz is 3rd in both doesn’t bode well for his chances going forward.
