Marco Rubio for the GOP, but no endorsement for either Democrat
Chicago Tribune ^ | March 9, 2016 | Editorial Board

This year the Ides of March brings presidential voting to Illinois - a state whose primary often falls so late that it's irrelevant to the nomination process. In 2016, though, Illinois can have impact.

Our custom is to offer primary election endorsements to candidates of both major parties. But the 2016 race confronts Illinois voters with uncommon dangers, because so many candidates are playing with fire.

The Tribune cannot endorse Trump. While he still holds a lead in delegates, the party is deeply divided. The Tribune today endorses Marco Rubio for the Republican presidential nomination.

This being a free country, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are welcome to pander however feverishly they wish, promising vast new expenditures by a federal government already committed to wildly more spending than its taxpayers and its low-growth economy can afford.

Agree or disagree with Marco Rubio on various issues, he offers Illinois voters the framework of a presidency that realistically could exist. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have not met this fundamental economic test. We're keeping an open mind, hoping that whichever of them prevails will meet that test in the general election campaign. Because promises, pledges and policies mean nothing to a gravely indebted American government that can afford only to window-shop.

In the Republican primary contest, the Tribune endorses Marco Rubio. In the Democratic contest, no endorsement.

Wow... that's a hell of a thing for them to admit

And isn't that Trump's general point, exactly?

Yeah, sure, the Chicago Tribune and its concern troll editorial board is worried that the Republican party is deeply divided and blames it on Donald Trump. What are their FR nicks?

Never forget: these are the swine who set Obama up for us by forcing open Jm Ryan’s sealed divorce records when he was running for the Senate. Of course they exhibited less than no curiosity about everything BO had hidden away in his life.
