Ted Cruz says he would have no problem with a contested convention over the summer in the event neither he nor Donald Trump secures enough delegates before then to lock up the Republican presidential nomination.
Trump suggested Wednesday morning on "Fox and Friends" that Cruz was making the statement "because he had such a bad night last night."

Trump is at 106% of his delegate target, per 538.

Cruz crap, Trump Crap, Rubio Crap and Kasich crap. It is all crap.
Lets face it Teddy was never as severely conservative as he tried to tell us. Look how quickly and seamlessly he has embraced the GOPe. Now the TPA and Corker Bill votes don’t seem so strange.
If neither candidate has the 1,237 delegates necessary to win, how do they determine who the candidate will be? Cruz is simply stating the obvious. I suppose it would be acceptable to you if Cruz, after battling Trump to a draw, just gave in and quit. That’s not how it works. I don’t think we’ll get there, especially if Trump wins Fl. and OH, but this is how the nomination get’s resolved if no one wins outright.
Everyone should watch the movie Advise and Consent. He’s George Grizzard.
Cruz should have said, “I won’t answer hypothetical questions”.
before the Trumpsters start screaming about him being establishment. A contested convention is a lot different than a brokered convention. This is the last thing the GOPe wants if none of the candidates win the number of delegates required for the nomination.
I agree with Cruz.
I think the rules need to be stuck by as they are before the campaign.
Changing the rules after the fact and not going to a contested convention if someone does not get the required delegates would be wrong.
Well Cruz Fans....here is your candidate.
More like Romney than I thought.
In 2012 Romney spoke out of both sides of his mouth—every day.
I don’t think the folks here know the difference between a contested convention and a brokered convention. Go back and review your government please.
Stealing has now been added to “conservative principles”.
Your post is crap.
“If neither of them have enough delegates, its the only course of action.”
Nope. Romney didn’t win 1237 delegates.
He fell short by hundreds of delegates.
He got the nomination because he finished first.
Bow to Romney Ted, bow down.
Ooooff course he’s fine with it. Bushes told him to be. If he keeps being good they may let him be Jeb’s shoe shine boy....err I mean Veep.
Cruz is only 30% ish, let’s see how the next couple weeks pan out. As long as Rubio and Kasich are out then we can have the best two fight it out.
I thought he said just last week that it was idiotic of the establishment to consider engineering the convention outcome.
I have been ready to vote for either Cruz or Trump.
But if Cruz can’t cut it as a candidate, and a man, then screw him.
You either WIN or you CRUZ!
There we go again. He just said he wouldn’t support a contested convention and quickly flipped. Cruz must think he can win, but he won’t. He will be replaced by Romney.
Of course not. None of them do. They are hoping the GOPe will shepherd them in over Trump.
