Ted Cruz says he would have no problem with a contested convention over the summer in the event neither he nor Donald Trump secures enough delegates before then to lock up the Republican presidential nomination.
Trump suggested Wednesday morning on "Fox and Friends" that Cruz was making the statement "because he had such a bad night last night."

Exactly. Much has been discussed about “Rule 40” but less understood is that the rules can be rewritten just before the voting begins. If it ever becomes clear that a 3rd candidate is pulled out from nowhere I would hope that a unity ticket of Trump/Cruz will emerge.
Deporting 3rd world illegals sucking down tax money and commuting crimes, reducing taxes on companies so they’ll come back and provide jobs, getting rid of common core, eliminating Obamacare, I guess to you they are all liberal stances? Funny, Cruz has copied them too.
I do not want to ensure that -Trump- wins with a plurality of delegates.
I want to ensure that WHOEVER has the most delegates is given the nomination, and I also want to ensure that someone who has not participated at all in this process, like Romney, or someone who was a basement dwelling candidate, like Bush, is not handed the nomination simply because the GOP prefers them.
I want the GOP to respect its base for once, and if they do not, they can go to ****in’ Hell.
“Last nights press conference came off very goofy.”
I predict that media coverage of Trump will change the instant that he locks in 1,237 delegates - no more open mikes, just deviously edited clips, with extensive leftist commentary, and Saturday Night Live parodies.
If they could paint boy scout Romney as a demon, starting with Trump’s 60% negatives (the highest ever measured), and an unvetted lifetime of material that perfectly fights their stereotypes of race, class and gender, they will have a field day with Trump. He will likely end up as a laughingstock (although possibly with the consolation of being President).
I think the establishment was going for a Bush presidency and a Cruz VP slot. Cruz as the head of the ticket has limited appeal outside of his core base. But he could grant legit conservative credentials to Bush who would run as a moderate Republican and the ticket would be made to be pro Hispanic illegals. That is what they were going for before Trump took out Bush.
Please understand the difference between a brokered and contested convention. Brokered is GOPe trying to give the nomination to someone other than the person who got enough delegates. Contested means no one got to the magic number and the delegates decide. They are very different. Cruz spoke out against the brokered convention which could potentially take the nomination away.
Bushie, Neil takes over Cruz’s financials.
Bushie, Jeb give Cruz 20 million.
Bush staffers, 4-5? come on board the Cruz Team.
Was this a hostile takeover/infiltration, or were they invited?
The problem with cruz is that he says one thing two days ago and totally different last night. Watch this video of hin saying a brokerwed convention would be “Trying to steal the nomination from the people” . This guy has serious problems with truth,http://www.redstate.com/streiff/2016/03/07/video-ted-cruz-says-brokered-convention-acceptable/
What does that have to do anything.
The purpose of the primary is to identify a candidate that can unify the party for the general election, and a candidate demonstrate he can do this by getting the majority of delegates to vote for him.
And if Trump can’t accomplish this, that means we don’t have such a unifying candidate.
Trump supporter should be focused on getting him over 50%, nothing turns off the supporters of other candidates and counter the object of unification than their strident declaration that their candidate should get the nomination no matter how the primary voters vote from here on out.
Either way Teddy is atomic toast.
The BROKERED CONVENTION is going on right now, as we speak, pre-convention, so that Ted can get his CONTESTED convention, by the time Cleveland convenes.
The brokers are:
Jeb Bush
Ted Cruz
John Kasich
Mitt Romney
Paul Ryan
Mitch McConnell
Rinse Prebush
Mr. Pac Money
Excellent! That was one of my favorite books in highschool.
He sure has. And now CNN is reporting Jeb is meeting with Rubio, Cruz and Kasich. These guys all make me sick.
Cruz is mainstreaming himself and throwing his conservative base under the bus so fast it will make your head spin.
yes.
I want the two useless loser, Rubio and kasich out today.
They have no point.
This is between Trump and Cruz, the trash needs to git.
IOW, Cruz is fine with subverting the will of the people who voted.
If he loses more states, get less delegates, he’s fine with taking the nomination despite what the little voters want.
lol....he’ll fit right in with establishment.
The “brokers” are convening now, before the convention, to arrange for a “contested” convention, to make it appear legitimate, and in keeping with the RUUUUULES.
The FIXERS are convening early. Get it?
THERE ARE NO RULES AGAINST ESTABLISHMENT DIRTY TRICKS AND FIXING ELECTIONS. (As desperate Cruz has proven on more than one occasion.)
Our Trumpettes see anything anyone does against their Dear Leader as a conspiracy. The statement is quite clear and I'm not sure what our Trumpettes would expect otherwise.
If the Orange Lord doesn't get the necessary delegates, there's a floor fight. Simple as that. Does he expect Cruz to step aside and just give him the nomination?
A roundup of the usual traitors.
Do you think after the majority voters have chosen Trump, Ted with a minority vote should get the nomination?
