The GOPe had no other choice but to go with Cruz at this point if they want to derail Trump. Rubio, who was last week’s designated GOPe candidate, has tanked big time. At least Cruz still has a fighting chance. What they will do then, who knows?
By the way, Maine is not a conservative Republican state, Maine is a state that embraces RINOs. Look at who Maine has sent to Washington as Republicans.

No, Cruz didn't have to lie to carry Maine, so why did he? Could there be some truth to the old saying, “A Tiger Cannot Change It's Stripes”? Nor can a liar stop lying.
