Fully 116 members of the GOP’s national security community, many of them veterans of Bush administrations, have signed an open letter threatening that, if Trump is nominated, they will all desert, and some will defect – to Hillary Clinton!

Hedge-fund billionaire Paul Singer is backing the Conservative Solutions PAC, which has dumped millions into anti-Trump ads and plans to spend more than $7 million between March 1 and 15, with $4 million of that going into Florida. The super PAC pile-on is unprecedented.

Two things about this quote stuck out to me.

1) If Hillary is the lesser evil then what are you telling fully 35% of your party that supports Trump?

2) if you (Eliot Cohen) support Hillary and cost Reoublicans the election, we are told this will have awful downstream results in House and Senate. What exactly are the goals of the party If losing House, Senate seats is the right choice?

If Cruz were the "principled Conservative" he pretends to be he'd have come out loud and clear against the GOPe trying to stop Trump.

Cruz and the whole Republican machine with rare exceptions has absolutely zero credibility in the world now when they claim they're overthrowing governments, leading coups, backing coups, or otherwise interfering in other countries because, they say, they want to create democracies with with free and fair elections in those places.

Here in the US, just like in those countries they've turned into bloody swamps of anarchy and evil, they want to put their people in power to do their bidding and to Hell with democracy and the will of We The People or the Constitution.

If Cruz is the nominee I will hold my nose and vote for him. If it is anyone else selected at the convention (other than Trump) I will simply vote for Hillary. Sorry but yes I will vote for the devil and a Democratic Party Senate candidate.

Cruz will never be the nom. He won’t get 1237 delegates and he wouldn’t be picked in a brokered convention so you won’t have to worry about that.

It will be either Trump or a Ryan/Cruz type ticket.

Regardless, since the GOP have killed the Buckley Rule I will probably follow the new Romney Rule and write in my preferred candidate should the nom get stolen from him. We shall see.
