THE OLIGARCHS' SUPER-PAC ANTI-TRUMP SAVAGERY
WND ^ | 3-7-16 | PATRICK J. BUCHANAN

Fully 116 members of the GOP’s national security community, many of them veterans of Bush administrations, have signed an open letter threatening that, if Trump is nominated, they will all desert, and some will defect – to Hillary Clinton!

“Hillary is the lesser evil, by a large margin,” says Eliot Cohen of the Bush II State Department. According to Politico’s Michael Crowley, Cohen helped line up neocons to sign the “Dump-Trump” manifesto.

Our Principles PAC, backed by Nebraska’s billionaire Ricketts family, has poured millions into trashing Trump. American Future Fund is dumping $1.75 million in Florida this week; Club for Growth $1.5 million.

Hedge-fund billionaire Paul Singer is backing the Conservative Solutions PAC, which has dumped millions into anti-Trump ads and plans to spend more than $7 million between March 1 and 15, with $4 million of that going into Florida. The super PAC pile-on is unprecedented.

How many speeches has Romney made on TV attacking Cruz? How many establishment PAC dollars from have been spent on attack ads targeting Cruz? How many times has the Speaker of the House and Republican office holders falsely called Cruz a racist?

Romney supported Cruz in his speech and asked voters to vote for him.

They may hate Cruz but they are using him as a tool to defeat Trump.

I watched the Perot takedown too and thought the same thing. Perot wasn’t a nutcase in my book. If the American people let this happen to Donald Trump then we truly are finished as a free nation. The globalists, open border supporters and one world order buy ins will have won.

Prayers up for Donald Trump.

Cruz has cast his lot in with them. The salving message would be we love you Trumpians, come to us since we understand the policy better. But, no. Instead he’s latched onto the #nevertrump side. He’s become their useful idiot. If they knock Trump down with all the neg ads, next up will be him with even more. Dopey.

Hear! Hear! Well said! That’s why I’m trying with all my heart not to give up hope completely for America. However, reading your spot on post; I can’t help but think that the devils have laid their groundwork too well and that Americans have allowed them to do it. The task of impressing what you just said on a dumbed down, social media addicted, hedonistic population that’s been spoon fed their mind numbing dope for decades is going to be a gargantuan task.

When “they” (Eliot Cohen and the other 115 people at the meeting referred to in the article - the oligarchs from here on out) are saying she’s the lesser evil, they’re not judging good and evil the way you and I do.

They are judging what a Clinton presidency would mean to their goals vs. what a Trump presidency would mean to their goals and they’ve decided that Clinton would be “less bad” than Trump. The question then is “what are their goals?”

As you say, Hillary’s time as SoS (and Senator, and First Lady) were disasters. If she’s the better choice to fulfill those goals then safety, security and prosperity of the US cannot be the goals of the oligarchs as she has proven to be miserable at achieving those goals.

If the goals are “keep the Washington DC gravy train rolling, keep importing cheap labor” are the oligarchs goals then Clinton makes much more sense. Much, much more.

Of course nearly all the members of the GOP flock to Hillary and the DEMs rather than to Trump. She is closer to them, ideologically. The GOP is a globalist party, and has not a shred of nationalism in it, save for a handful of people in the peanut-gallery referred to as "Congress."

Ted Cruz is their 2nd to last pick, but Ted's willingness, check that, desire to take money from billionaires gives them a future seat at the table if Cruz gets in. Ted Cruz is 2nd only to Hillary Clinton on Super Pac money. Trump reminds me of another New Yorker. As far as Trump goes, as they said about Serpico, "Frank, You don't take money. How can we trust a guy who doesn't take money."

Can't Trust a Guy Who Doesn't Take Money

Ted Cruz is the lawyer for the Marxist globalist uniparty and he is prosecuting Trump. Cruzs’ job is to split the anti vote and thus deny Trump the GOP nomination.

You know who never criticizes other candidates? Losers. Cruz's job as a candidate is to win the nomination. Of course he's going to go after the frontrunner. Reagan would have done the same thing.

The result may be a brokered convention, but that's not why Cruz is doing it. He thinks he has a shot. It's a long shot but it's better than what Rubio has - no chance.

“Hillary is the lesser evil, by a large margin,” says Eliot Cohen of the Bush II State Department. According to Politico’s Michael Crowley, Cohen helped line up neocons to sign the “Dump-Trump” manifesto. Another signer, Robert Kagan, wailed in The Washington Post, “The only choice will be to vote for Hillary Clinton.” Please share this article by using the link below. When you cut and paste an article, Taki's Magazine misses out on traffic, and our writers don't get paid for their work.

Kagan and Cohen are just saying out loud what most neoconservatives and the rest of the GOP establishment is thinking. To them, establishment Democrats are just political opponents with whom they differ over small matters of tactics. Their real (common) enemies are the populist and libertarian grassroots.

They duped Bush into spending trillions of American treasure and wasting rivers of young blood in their Iraq pipedream.

I agree that the neoconservatives were the loudest voice pushing the war in Iraq, but the notion that they "tricked" Bush implies that he was just their innocent dupe. Bush and (especially) Cheney knew exactly what they were doing. The alternative is that they are so stupid that they were easily manipulated by transparent lies and propaganda - which makes them even less fit for high office than if they were the masterminds.
