Because so long as the GOPe opposes him he's got almost no chance of winning.
If they were just worried about Trump's weakness as a candidate in the general (based on some polls that don't mean anything) they could throw their support to Cruz, who's got the best chance of beating Trump without needing a brokered convention.
They'll never help Cruz because he's not part of the GOPe. He's part of the Christian right and a more mainstream conservative, but he's not going to be allowed to join any club that has Jeb Bush as a member.
That's not a fair dig. He was indeed talking about international finance not migration, and the poster obviously intended the quote to be understood that way.
His point was to compare the Trump quote with Soros's globalism, transparent global markets, and bla bla bla. (I don't believe in that stuff, hence "bla bla".)

What they are trying to do IMHO (IMHO! Don't jump on me yet!) is to recreate the deferential world of the 17th and 18th centuries, when Austrian margraves could toddle up to London and expect deference and a civil reception (that was also slang for a cathouse) from all the grovelling Englishmen, and likewise English noblemen could expect pampering and groveling in Russia, Italy, and France ....

Ted Cruz is the lawyer for the Marxist globalist uniparty and he is prosecuting Trump. Cruzs’ job is to split the anti vote and thus deny Trump the GOP nomination. Anyone that can not see that is not paying attention.
Because Trump is the strongest non-Establishment candidate. Therefore, he is the guy they most urgently need to halt, break his momentum.
If the GOP hate Cruz why is Romney saying I support Cruz, Rubio and Kasich? Something doesn’t add up here.
Because he wants to redistribute votes from Donald Trump to anybody but Trump. He's not really supporting Kasich (whom McConnell is complaining about because he won't drop out) or Cruz (whom the Establishment crowd don't like either).
They just have to ablate, blunt, and eventually destroy the lead man's momentum until he can be screwed over royally in the convention. Then the Establishment candidate can be imposed under "the Rules". (To a conservative walkout, probably.)

Right now, Job One is to slow, then stop, the leader of the insurgent factions. He has to be stopped, beaten, and be seen to be beaten.
Defeating Donald Trump will remain the top priority until either Trump is beaten, or the e-GOP RiNO's are. If the RiNO's succeed in stopping Trump, then they'll mop the floor with all the others, including Ted Cruz (maybe!).

I'm aware of her work for the CFR, but am not aware that she a) author(essed) or b) stipulated to all the findings and recommendations of the Pastor-headed group.
I would like her to explain her work for CFR in the NAU/SPP study, or alternatively, I'd appreciate it if someone would pick up all the members of the CFR, rendition them to black sites overseas or on the high seas, and find out what those guys are up to, and what their long-range agenda is, and who's behind it.

The reason I went after the other poster, is that Trump IS pushing for a stop to immigration, better trade deals, and so forth, explicitly to bolster and re-create the middle class in the US. He's correct, but not correct enough: just as the Bush toadstool family persuaded themselves that "college educated people have better mores and are more civilized, and ditto with home ownership" so they decided to more or less "decree" that everyone be pushed into a college degree and a home -- which, by the way, the left took advantage of by jacking up tuition rates exorbitantly and loading academe to the gills with Melissa-click-type Amherst PhD-holders -on-the-novel-50-shades-of-grey, but also decoupling home mortgages from creditworthiness: which together with anti-redlining, and packaging and selling the mortgages as supposed investment-grade-securities (tranches)...led to the collapse of 2008 or so, which we are all recovering from (mostly not recovering) and the 'necessity' of the multi-trillion-dollar bailout for the banks...
and all this, because they failed to realize that a home and college degree, were the results of discipline and character, not the *cause*: confusing correlation with causation, and in fact reversing the arrow of causation.
The other ingredient needed besides the Donald's is to nuke Silicon Valley and make Twitter and Facebook posting punishable by death. /sarc> Seriously, the Kardashian-ization of culture and enforcement of sexual libertinism by herding impressionable young women into slutdom & careerdom over valuing children & families, must stop, or the middle class will not be self-sustaining.
