Senator Ted Cruz scored a hard-fought and decisive win in the Kansas caucuses on Saturday, demonstrating his enduring appeal among conservatives as he tries to reel in Donald J. Trumps significant lead in the Republican presidential race.
Mr. Cruzs victory illustrated the doubts about Mr. Trump that still linger among the sort of traditional Republicans who attend time-intensive party caucuses. With results still being tallied, Mr. Trump appeared to finish well behind Mr. Cruz, with Senator Marco Rubio of Florida taking third.

I expected that. Kansas has always been full blown.
>51% - dang - if it remains above 50% thats a more than I would have hoped for..
Congrats to the Cruz supporters from a Trump supporter. Really.
Texas thanks you, Kansas. You are people with good judgment .
>>Congrats to the Cruz supporters from a Trump supporter. Really<<
Hey...that’s pretty cool. Thank you.
I hope we can all calm down and let the candidates do the insulti9ng.
Me too as well. I really don’t care if Cruz or Trump become the nominee, as long as it isn’t little Marco. That guy becomes the nominee Hillary will be the next POTUS.
Yep - thumped. Closed caucus - Cruz is doing really well in those. Plus all the tactical nukes thrown at Trump these two weeks. 2 man race now.
We are all in this together brother. We can agree to disagree over details, but one thing is uppermost in this election:
Anybody But Clinton.
Agreed we are on the same team, just looking to pick the captain.
One thing is for sure. We’ll end up with the candidate who can’t beat Hillary, which is Ted Cruz. McCain, Romney, Cruz.. There’s a pattern here.
Nicely said.
As I have posted many times, Cruz is my guy but if Trump is the name on the ballot the first Tuesday this November, I will crawl through a mile of broken liberals and illegals to mark him as my choice.
I figure people who say “I will stay home before voting for -— “ may as well tell me they would rather move to Canada. I like to remind them they vote on the first Wednesday this November.
:) Stay safe FReeper.
Thank you!
Agreed...Trump and Cruz have the same goal...to absolutely shake-up the game in Washington...pray they remain safe on the trail!
“State Republican parties are required to distribute delegates on a proportional basis until March 15, so each of the states voting Saturday will scatter their combined 155 delegates.”
It looks like Cruz will take Kentucky and Maine as well.........

BUMP!!
Anyway, no excuses. Trump simply couldn't get his people to the caucusing places as effectively as Ted Cruz did.
Congrats to Ted Cruz on his victories tonight and I take solace in the fact that Marco Rubio is doing utterly awful so far. If it gets down to a head-to-head Trump/Cruz race, may the best one win and I'll happily support either one of them.
What up wit dat? {raised eyebrow}
