House lawmakers sharply criticized the head of the Department of Energys green energy loan program for not releasing documents requested by a committee looking into companies that have received taxpayer dollars.
It is disconcerting that the executive director of a major government program is unwilling to commit to actually commit to providing all the documents that an investigation committee of the Congress has requested, California Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher .. told Mark McCall, the head of the DOEs loan office, in a hearing Thursday, and that the answer being given is using weasel words
...
House committee members are specifically asking for emails from DOE loan office staffers regarding companies that got subsidized loans. The former loan office head, Jonathan Silver, resigned after it was discovered he used a personal email account to conduct official business and may have lobbied for politically-favored projects to get loans.
For example, Silvers emails showed he and another DOE official were pushing the Treasury Department to move more quickly to approve a $400 million loan guarantee for Abound Solar which filed for bankruptcy in 2012 after drawing down on $70 million from taxpayers.
A Daily Caller News Foundation later exposed Abound for taking taxpayer dollars while knowingly selling solar panels that routinely caught fire, and for possibly misleading lenders to get an influx of cash.

“Disconcerting”, Dana?
Goddamn CRIMINAL is what it is.
You’re absolutely right.
Man-made global warming is a man-made hoax for getting government loans and grants and then going bankrupt. All a complete scam for robbing hard working Americans and for punishing political enemies.
The effing Republican Congress handed the $30 billion to the DOE.
The Republican Congress has trashed a lot more than some DOE ninny in the hot seat for one day.
So does Congress hold them in contempt and lock them up until they comply? No. So what’s the use of even having a hearing?
That was a rhetorical question
House lawmakers have only themselves to blame. They’re weak and feckless. If they had held this administration accountable for its actions early on, they wouldn’t be in this situation.
So go ahead Congress...cry when the administration ignores you. You continue to fund them. You look the other way when they violate your laws. You approve their nominations. You are complicit. You deserve their disdain.
Pathetic.
They still believe that shouting in front of the cameras will impress & pacify the idiot peasants.
Those days are gone now and THEY are the idiots.
How about suspending ALL funding for the DOE criminals until they give up the documents, you eunuchs? These are the kind of worthless kabuki hearings that taxpayers are sick of.
Shock and outrage, Dana?
You passed the 2016 budget without a whimper and then you resort to verbal abuse of a government agency? How's that working out for you?
Oh my. Dana is mad. You mad bro? He's mad.
This is the way Facists operate. The ideology trumps the rule of law.
Idiot Kabuki Dancer #1
Yeah. He mad.
Beez skeered. Reeel skeered.
I used to have so much respect for Gowdey what the hell happens to these people???
Did Ryan and co terminate the authority for loan guarantees? No! They just resort to fake outrage to assuage their "rank and file" who will feel better because their congresscritter spoke harshly of a government bureaucracy going so far as even to accuse them of using weasel words.
There is no one competent within 50 miles of the US capitol. Certainly not this pompous grandstander.
Even if they start out sincere, which is unusual, they get to DC and get beat up: join the gang, don’t rock the boat, or we’ll do you.
The theatrics are just pantomime for the suckers back home. They head out to the nice restaurants in Georgetown after a hard day of mugging for the cameras, have dinner with the same people they yelled at.
