Although Ben Carson said after Super Tuesday that he saw no political path forward in his campaign, he stopped short of officially suspending it. Now thats changed.
On Friday Carson officially suspended his campaign during a speech at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.
I am leaving the campaign trail, he said, but promised to stay involved in saving our nation.
In Friday's wide-ranging speech, Carson warned against a growing debt, overreaching government social programs and a general breakdown of morals in the country.
Our pillars of strength are faith and family, Carson said. As those things are being eroded, you see what is happening to our nation.
Carson also announced Friday that he is taking up the role of chairman of My Faith Votes, a nonpartisan organization to inspire and motivate Christians to vote.
The consummate outsider, Carson enjoyed a surge in the polls last year, at one point becoming competitive with Donald Trump. But his numbers later plunged, and he has not won a single contest; he was solidly in last place in the delegate count following Super Tuesday.

He's a lot wealthier than when he started...and so are a lot of friends...and he has book signings all lined up and speaking engagements...and enough fodder for a new book.
It was all about the money.

I guess he will stop calling me now. The spoofed callerid was a clue to his message.

He got managed by his consultants and not able to break free of their control. He was doing so well when he was in the news everywhere and when he was not being PC. Once he clammed down his poll numbers dropped

When we had a landline I changed our number to a private number because of the solicitation calls we received all the time from people who wanted to sell something or from politicians who made robo calls. The calls stopped, but then I bought a new phone (Panasonic) which had a audio Caller ID, which let me know who called. If I did not recognize the number I did not answer the call.
I have a specific ringtone on my smartphone for numbers that I do not recognize and will not answer, and will put it in call-reject.

I do hope that whoever becomes the Republican president will appoint him as Secretary of Health and Human services or perhaps as Surgeon General.

Hopefully Dr Carson can get some rest now. He seemed very tired of late.

I always thought it was ridiculous to suggest that that he should run for the office of the presidency. Just because he gave that excellent speech a few years ago at the National prayer in DC about 0bama’s health care debacle.

Quite. And I think he would be outstanding as HHS or Surgeon General.

Yea, I'll save any spam calls as a contact named 'Spam'. So then, when they call, I know to answer it then just leave my phone in my pocket. Wasting their time/minutes at least helps save other people from them for a short time!
