But Hillary Clinton, who is well ahead in the Democratic race for the presidency, would likely face a stronger challenge should Florida Sen. Marco Rubio or Texas Sen. Ted Cruz capture the Republican nomination for president.
In the scenario that appears most likely to emerge from the primary contests, Clinton tops Trump 52% to 44% among registered voters. That result has tilted in Clinton's favor since the last CNN/ORC Poll on the match-up in January.
But when the former secretary of state faces off with either of the other two top Republicans, things are much tighter and roughly the same as they were in January. Clinton trails against Rubio, with 50% choosing the Florida senator compared to 47% for Clinton, identical to the results in January. Against Cruz, Clinton holds 48% to his 49%, a slight tightening from a 3-point race in January to a 1-point match-up now.

There are far fewer white voters now. Small swings in white voters could turn elections then. Not so now. Reagan won California twice. The GOP doesn't even bother there now.
Also Reagan wasn't a rudderless spray-tanned penis-discussing clown. People grew more comfortable with Reagan the more they got to know him. The opposite goes for the head of Trump University.
Why thank you for telling me how ignorant my acquaintances are. I will certainly not take your input into consideration when I vote.
He’s not really “my candidate”, I didn’t vote for him in the SC primary.
My point is that the MSM have an agenda to push, and suckers always fall for it.
In this case, the same suckers who fell for “Romney can win!” are the ones signing onto #NeverTrump.
If Trump ends up “unelectable”, it’ll be a self-fulfilling prophecy on the part of the NeverTrumpers voting for Hillary or sitting at home during the election.
what? Hillary can barely fill a room
And sanders HAD some enthusiasm ... at first. But that has dies down considerably now that people know more about him.
I am not enthusiastic for Donald Trump, but any poll taken right now with Trump vs Clinton or Trump vs Sanders is useless.
I actually think Trump will clobber Hillary in the general election. The reason I think that is I fully expect Donald Trump to modify his rhetoric after he is the nominee, at least as far as crudeness is concerned and unnecessary personal attacks.
Hillary will rue the day she goes up against Trump. He will not back down or be intimidated by the news media.
