CPAC: Jan Brewer, former Arizona governor, says it’s time for GOP to back Donald Trump

Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Friday it’s time for Republicans to coalesce around GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump and stop their divisive plans to deride the business mogul’s path to the nomination.

“I hate to see this happening to the Republican Party. We’ve always been the party of the big tent and shouldn’t be eating our own,” Ms. Brewer told The Washington Times at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). “Everybody needs to come together and coalesce behind our candidate.”

I think not as well. If it comes close to a brokered convention then maybe, at that time, it will be crucial for Cruz to drop out. But it’s still too early to put all our chips and frankly a dishonest candidate.

Thing is he just makes it up as he goes along. I watched that debate and he was not the clear winner. We got to look at his duplicity. He was against the second amendment before he was for it. Same on planned parenthood. On free speech. Ect...

Who cares what they call us.

I couldn't care less what they call me or us, I pointed out the double standard and that rules don't apply equally.

You can't deny that.

The rules don’t but the RESULTS, which is what matters, do. And the RESULTS are that having a highly contested primary does not preclude winning the general election. In fact the RESULTS show a highly contested primary is often the result of a highly energized base and IMPROVES your chances of winning the general. Notice how many more people are voting in the GOP primaries than the Dem. Results apply equally. And the results say there’s no reason to declare it over in early March and have everybody not the front runner quit so we can move on to the general.

I never said it did, where do you get that from?

I did say it serves the elitist goal of getting people other that diehards like you and me to tune out.

That's why party turnout has become such an issue, which you never addressed.

But it does NOT get people to turn out. Again, RESULTS. The RESULTS of contested primaries is that people tune IN. They stay engaged, they stay energized, they fork over more money. Party turn out is BETTER if the primaries stay a fight. If all the “losers” dropped out of the primary tomorrow do you know what happens between now and July 18th that will keep voters tuned in? NOTHING. With nothing happening, people will tune out. Again, 2008. Pay attention to the results. Having contested primaries keeps the “elites” from dictating the news cycle.

Jan Brewer can stick it. I’m not backing the Super RINO Trump under ANY circumstance. He’s not a conservative. I will not back non-conservatives anymore
