Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney thinks "Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud" and that he's "playing the American public for suckers," according to prepared remarks provided by Romney to CNN.
According to the former Massachusetts governor, "the only serious policy proposals that deal with the broad range of national challenges we confront have come from Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and John Kasich."
Romney is expected to remark on some what-ifs about Trump becoming president. "His domestic policies would lead to recession. His foreign policies would make America and the world less safe. He has neither the temperament nor the judgment to be president," Romney is expected to say.
Romney will also touch on a "twisted example of evil trumping good: "Trump's claims that he admires Russian President Vladimir Putin while calling "George W. Bush a liar."

This coming from an expert loser
Some have become too friendly to the GOPe as of late, while still trying to play act like they are the most principled people in America.
As far as I’m concerned their openness to teaming up with Rubio, their willingness to use leftist talking points, and their likely support for Romney’s diatribe, leads me to see them as nothing more than an extension of the GOPe.
Talk about a stabbing a friend in the back.
It says a lot more about Mittens than it does about Trump.
Romney and wizards of smart think that running the country requires a secret knowledge. Never did, never will. It requires common sense. Isn’t he the progenitor of Obamacare? KISS MY ASS MITTENS!
So were you Mitt. But you also didn’t have a spine.
That is so disappointing...I had always held Romney in high esteem.
Trump graciously defended Romney during the last election cycle and supported him. This betrayal is just plain evil. Trump must truly be a real threat to the corruption in our government.
If anyone can unify conservatives, it’s Mitt Romney. Keep talking Mitt.
Romney’s sudden reappearance in the media against Trump coincides with Roger Stone’s comments that he will be the sneak candidate at a brokered convention.
When Reid accused Romney of tax fraud, Trump jumped right in and defended Romney. Now he’s stabbing Trump in the back. He should be ashamed of himself.
With friends like that, who needs enemies?
And Mitt Romney wears strange underwear.
Claiming Trump is a phoney and a fraud implies his supporters are idiots.
Look, Trump hit Mitt, called him a choke artist.
Mitt is just trying to swing back.
It won’t work, in fact it will backfire.
Isn’t that sweet?
The backstabber, Bishop RomneyCARE has something
to say about Mr. Trump after supporting Obama
for all these years.
Yeah, some of the TDS-ers on FR will disagree or smirk about it, but even the worst of them will know in their heart it is the case and that it is not merely coincidence that today we also get the "Open Letter on Donald Trump from GOP National Security Leaders."
C'mon, you constitutionalists and Christians defend that steaming pile of globalist elitism smothered in GOP-e sauce.
Forests and trees, people.
Mr. niteowl77
Yup. I said awhile back here the GOP establishment would parachute in Mittens as a compromise candidate.
Looks like a trial balloon from the party bosses to see if it will float.
This should seal the deal for Trump!
I ran for President and lost badly.
I know I speak for the Republican Party when I say...
Trump is a fraud.
Silence...
Do you guys want me back?
Hey! I'll run, what about it?
Crowd: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Really? Having lived in soviet Red England, I can assure you that Milt is a steaming pile of excrement in the tradition of the Kennedys and the Kerrys. They do not give a tinker's damn about anyone outside their circle.
Not a fan of Romney and do not think he needs to inject himself at this point. Have though considered the possibility the phony/fraud description could be correct. And this is from a Cruz supporter who will vote for Trump if he’s the nominee.
