Finally, after a lot of searching and a lot of complicated charts that weren’t exactly correct it appears that the Texas Delegates ended up totaling 115 for Cruz and 40 for Trump. If my math is correct that means that Super Tuesday was essentially a tie with a difference between Cruz and Trump of only 14 delegates. So while Trump racked up a bunch of states Cruz racked up a bunch of delegates. Which strategy is smarter? For Cruz it seems that this worked out pretty well especially when the polls had Trump winning both Oklahoma and Alaska.
Now that Carson is out of the race and Rubio is on his last legs and his numbers will in all likelihood begin to fall precipitously, Cruz will have a more open field in which to operate. The question is will it translate to votes which ultimately translates to delegates?
The current delegate count with the new Texas figures included would seem to be Trump at 321 and Cruz at 242 or a difference of 79 delegates. Over the next two weeks there are over 700 delegates at stake which tells us that this is still anybody’s race. The problem for Trump is that as the race narrows the conservative vote which has been split among Carson, Rubio and Cruz is going to begin tilting more toward Cruz.

Now he wins it an two more states along with getting only 14 less delegates on the day than trump and you say it was expected.

Like it or not, that is not good for Trump, but it is a great day for Cruz
Trump has 45% of the delegates so far and Ted has 32%.

It was a good day for Ted and a bad one for Trump.
He was expecting to put Cruz away, and so were 99% of his supporters.
OOOPs, didn’t happen.
Trump has a plurality, not a majority. If the other candidates drop out, Cruz beats Trump head to head.
Short response....Ted Cruz has had his day...there are no more Texas states for him to win!!! Ted Cruz is done...no matter what comes out of his moth. When he did so poorly across the entire south...his POTUS hopes went right down the toilet!!! End of story!!!

If he somehow gets the nomination you cruzites can celebrate as he gets his ass handed to him by Hillary. Those polls that show him even competing are laughable at best. Those polls ignore all common sense. Cruz is seen by everyone but his most fervent supporters as a bible thumping loon. Sorry man, that doesn’t play AT ALL in a general election. Cruz as our nominee is a landslide presidential victory for Hillary. It’s all common sense cruzites.
