How panicked should we be about the rise of Donald Trump? A professor at Harvard, Danielle Allen, recently published a widely shared op-ed piece in the Washington Post likening his rise to that of Hitler in Germany.
First of all, such Hitler hype has happened before, and been unwarranted. Steven Hayward, author of “The Age of Reagan,” recalls the rhetoric:
Democratic Rep. William Clay of Missouri charged that Reagan was “trying to replace the Bill of Rights with fascist precepts lifted verbatim from Mein Kampf.”
The Los Angeles Times cartoonist Paul Conrad drew a panel depicting Reagan plotting a fascist putsch in a darkened Munich beer hall.
Harry Stein (later a conservative convert) wrote in Esquire that the voters who supported Reagan were like the “good Germans” in “Hitler’s Germany.”
John Roth, a Holocaust scholar at Claremont College, wrote: “I could not help remembering how 40 years ago economic turmoil had conspired with Nazi nationalism and militarism—all intensified by Germany’s defeat in World War I—to send the world reeling into catastrophe. . . . It is not entirely mistaken to contemplate our postelection state with fear and trembling.”

This is the year, the culmination of the co-opting of WORDS by the Republicans, much as the left has long known how to co-opt and redefine words and control the dialog by controlling the language.
SINCE WHEN was THIS not REAL CONSERVATISM: Make America great, build the military so strong that no one will attack it, stop drugs pouring over the border, stop illegals pouring over our borders and sucking our welfare systems dry, don't let the enemy (muslims) IN like a trojan horse, don't fund their resettlement here, cut the budget, cut the deficit, eliminate waste, fraud and duplication and redundancy, and TAKE CARE OF OUR VETERANS!
THAT is "conservative". ALL OUR LIVES that is CONSERVATIVE.
But...But....we are told NOW by Cruz, Rubio, the RNC, that we are phony conservatives. And that REAL conservatives believe the following:
NOW, however, the Cruzs and the GOPe and the globalists tell us that "real conservative" means "free trade agreements" like TPP, which screw the US to the brink of existence; promote the North American Union; open and uncontrolled borders and immigration; multiculturalism, like resettling muslim Syrians and Somalians by the hundreds of thousands in flyover country. Run trade deficits in the hundreds of billions and growing each year---approved by REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS, giving the LEFT everything on their wildest wish list. Export US jobs to other countries and allow them to ship their products back her with zero tariffs. Accept massive tariffs or complete prohibitions to get our goods into other countries while opening our borders to freely allow other countries to sell their products here with zero tariffs.
If you do not support THESE things, you are not a "real conservative." TRUMP and TRUMP supporters are phony conservatives because we do not support the end of US sovereignty, nationalism and patriotism.
The political class and globalists have twisted it so that Cruz-family globalism (500,000 more H1B highly skilled visas; massive increases in H2 visas for lettuce pickers; taking bribes from the banks who were GIVEN trillions of taxpayer money in 2008; remove all caps on work visas for China, Mexico and India, allowing them to take the remaining US STEM jobs until crony capitalists can finish exporting the jobs entirely.

Reagan innoculated himself somewhat from the “ elites” by taking on GHW Bush as vp. The deal was Reagan for one term then GHW to “run the country the way it should be run to protect the “protected class” and the other “elites”.

So, did GHW Bush get to run Reagan's second term? I don't know much about that time in history.
I see so many similarities in this election to the Reagan election. The GOPe is going after Trump as hard, if not harder, than they did Reagan! God Bless President Reagan! God Bless President-to-be Trump!

Mr. Reagan served President Reagan’s second term.
Some of our Republican candidates are providing ammunition to the DemonRATs. A brief listen to Rubio at one of his rallies is a list of deceptive miss-truths against Trump they can use to twist the narrative against him. I almost think there is are DemonRAT moles burrowing into these campaigns to set them up for failure. When Cruz’s Communications Director Rick Tyler was pulling his little tricks, my antenna went up. Glenn Beck is another loose cannon.
I listened to Newt Gingrich on Hannity today. He spoke about what has been said about Trump and offered Trump some advice. One key thing he said is Trump needs to list the miss-truths and work up a quick one line response to each of them. With his good mind he could hit every one of their balls out of the park.

also, I don't think he's running enough ads. I don't know if it is being frugal or if his campaign thinks neg ads create a fog of war and there effectiveness is severely blunted.
I wish Trump would do positive ads about himself, just the usual 30 sec., and set the record straight regarding the ongoing charges against him. He could run them everywhere, even into the general.
