Against Ronald Reagan.

How panicked should we be about the rise of Donald Trump? A professor at Harvard, Danielle Allen, recently published a widely shared op-ed piece in the Washington Post likening his rise to that of Hitler in Germany.
First of all, such Hitler hype has happened before, and been unwarranted. Steven Hayward, author of The Age of Reagan, recalls the rhetoric:
Democratic Rep. William Clay of Missouri charged that Reagan was trying to replace the Bill of Rights with fascist precepts lifted verbatim from Mein Kampf.
The Los Angeles Times cartoonist Paul Conrad drew a panel depicting Reagan plotting a fascist putsch in a darkened Munich beer hall.
Harry Stein (later a conservative convert) wrote in Esquire that the voters who supported Reagan were like the good Germans in Hitlers Germany.
John Roth, a Holocaust scholar at Claremont College, wrote: I could not help remembering how 40 years ago economic turmoil had conspired with Nazi nationalism and militarismall intensified by Germanys defeat in World War Ito send the world reeling into catastrophe. . . . It is not entirely mistaken to contemplate our postelection state with fear and trembling.

They're trying this stuff now with Trump ... pretty good company Donald is keeping if you ask me.

Watching Obama mug on inauguration day, and his subsequent behavior, was/is as close as we’ll come to seeing Mussolini in our lifetimes.

This thought occurred to me just yesterday. The pundits said Reagan, too, was dangerous, unqualified, a cult of personality, fascist, warmonger. They made him out to be a dunce one moment, a conniving sneak the next, whatever fit their agenda.
NOTHING has changed with these leftist propagandists.

I am more afraid of Trump going fascist than Reagan because of Reagan’s stance on limited power and constitutionalism.
Trump never gripped me as someone who held the ideals of the Constitution and limited government over himself.
That being said, I simply don’t give a crap anymore about the whining about a possible “Fascist Trump” from the idiot spewing leftist media because we just had 7 years of a “Fascist Obama” aided by an “Ornamental Congress”.
I would prefer Cruz, but if Trump gets in and does what he says by using an Iron fist, I am gonna laugh my ass off at every liberal who whines about it. Reckoning time.

Viewers and subscribers are tired of the blatant bias of the MSM. The GOPe continues to be in denial. There are some very unnerving articles out there today. They apparently are going to go multinuclear on Trump the next two weeks.
They don't seem to care about Hillary winning, so this whole exercise is an attempt to keep their troughs full.

Fears of Donald Trump as Fascist Echo Similar Warnings Against Ronald Reagan NY Sun ^ | February 29, 2016 | IRA STOLL Posted on 3/1/2016, 8:55:28 AM by VitacoreVision Im not telling anyone not to panic. But myself, I am just taking a deep breath or two and relaxing. I will probably get called a Trump enabler, or worse, for saying so. Alas, telling people to calm down doesnt generate the clicks or television ratings that the Trump panic does. But here to help you sleep better, if nothing else is a case that the alarm over Trump is probably overstated. First of all, such Hitler hype has happened before, and been unwarranted. Democrats are rolling out their another effort from their Master Tactic Campaign Trick Book. They don’t even know their poliscience 101. Such idiots. Fascism is on the totalitarian end of the spectrum. It is way over to the left side with Big Government control and dictators. On the far right is anarchy. We conservatives are somewhere in the middle because we adhere to the rule of law and the Constitution. Trump is right there with us. Make no doubt they are trying to fuzz up our logical thinking. What do you expect from a crowd ridden with the mental disorder of a totalitarian mindset? Logic based on facts?

Enough already, All this mud slinging gets to be redundant, comparing every Republican candidate over the past 50 years to Hitler is so yesterday. Each individual is different, to say a candidate is like one specific bad guy only appeals to those on the far left side of the IQ bell curve.

Trump is keeping some pretty good company these days, notably Sessions, and I think he's starting to get more ideologically in a conservative sense.

you forgot about the convention fight which they would love to have with Trump, also. Mind numbing lack of creativity.

That's what empowers and enables them. They have no worries about being too extreme. The just keep serving it up.
