There’s a good case to be made for the thesis that a Caesar who doesn’t try to churchify the state, leaves more room for the church to thrive and, yes, encourage better morals and better share the word of eternal salvation. Because now we don’t have the state pretending to a mission it never had, and likewise the church.

I think Cruz means well, but he’s theologically confused.

Yeah, I know. I understand. The joke was started and it grew.

I’m sure some folks don’t like that graphic.

I’ve got people I thought were sensible taking this Hitler/David Duke/KKK thing completely seriously and posting swivel-eyed anti-Trump paranoia on my FB timeline.

My response to them has been: he entered the race in 2015. Deciding you want to oppose him now is like wanting to change the paint on the Saturn V after it blasts off for the moon.

I agree completely with you. Cruz allowed himself to become personally and professionally diverted and distracted by the likes of Glenn Beck and others in his campaign who I believe all had their individual agendas which were not necessarily in the best interest of Ted Cruz or his campaign. Cruz is a young man, he's got plenty of time to analyze and evaluate what went wrong, and adjust his future course accordingly.

Interesting that Rubio is showing up strong even with a small percentage of precincts reporting. I’m wondering what use (or if) the Trump campaign made of former Virginia Congressman Virgil Goode’s endorsement of him?

Mormons do seem to be less interested in the separate dedication of the church and state spheres, than some other modern takes on the Christian faith. And it shows with Beck, and Cruz followed the siren song.

The result is that we saw a gospel that was far less than it could be. It saddens me that even Trump was able to outdo this, but this appears to be God’s will.
