Republican Gov. Dennis Daugaard shocked conservatives Tuesday when he vetoed legislation that would have prohibited students in South Dakota public schools from using opposite-sex restrooms, locker rooms and shower facilities.
The decision is a boon for transgender advocates who lobbied the governor to reject the bill, arguing it was discriminatory and would have harmed the emotional well-being of transgender students.
Proponents of the legislation contended it’s inappropriate to have adolescent boys and girls showering and changing in the same room.
“Do you feel it appropriate for a 13-year-old girl to be exposed to the anatomy of a boy? Or for a boy to be exposed to the anatomy of a girl because of the decisions we make out here?”...

Most of the purported panic stories seem to center around the women’s/girls’ room.
Again this is also a Caesar level problem. I think the sight of such things might start moving people towards God, if only in desperation. And God being who He is, would bless that motion. Containing the problem in some sensible manner is better than going around with our hair on fire.

I live in the state, I’m not sure there are enough votes to override. I think the original vote in the legislature was pretty close. He completely caved to national pressure. Remember South Dakota gave the USA Mr. Daschle to deal with for a long time. Although we are a red state there is a long established Democratic power base here. McGovern was from here.

I have one observation to share. If some of these sicko’s who want to go into women's locker rooms or bathrooms are really perverts and are arrested for lude behavior, and then the police either put them in a women's lockup or they are convicted and because they self identify as women end up in a women's correction center, society will have little to worry about them. The women in most prisons/correction centers are pretty tough and would likely emasculate these sex perverts the first time a corrections officer turns his back.
