Trump as Hitler is ridiculous, but pay attention to his media mastery, especially the lawsuits for content he doesn't like. Hitler & Stalin first of all, carefully groomed their domestic media images--Stalin is still popular in Russia. Charlie Chaplin's "Great Dictator" & Spike Jones' "Der Fuhrer's Face" give us a false idea of Hitler, he was a master propagandist, wielded almost psychic control over his audience. Free sci-to about Hitler as psychic, "The Leader" by Murray Leinster, select, right click, go to. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A7FE4LI/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?ie=UTF8&btkr=1

First of all, such Hitler hype has happened before, and been unwarranted. Steven Hayward, author of The Age of Reagan, recalls the rhetoric: Democratic Rep. William Clay of Missouri charged that Reagan was trying to replace the Bill of Rights with fascist precepts lifted verbatim from Mein Kampf. The Los Angeles Times cartoonist Paul Conrad drew a panel depicting Reagan plotting a fascist putsch in a darkened Munich beer hall. Harry Stein (later a conservative convert) wrote in Esquire that the voters who supported Reagan were like the good Germans in Hitlers Germany....John Roth, a Holocaust scholar at Claremont College, wrote: I could not help remembering how 40 years ago economic turmoil had conspired with Nazi nationalism and militarismall intensified by Germanys defeat in World War Ito send the world reeling into catastrophe. . . . It is not entirely mistaken to contemplate our postelection state with fear and trembling.irst of all, such Hitler hype has happened before, and been unwarranted. Hitler was the right arm of Muslims whose goal, and his, was to systematically commit genocide.
Just because a candidate utilizes tried and true methods for winning the hearts and minds of the people, does not make him/her a Hitler.

Excellent point!
This is why the rhetoric these guys from the left to “true conservatives” on FR isnt working on the majority of people.
That is why we have Godwin’s Law. If you cant avoid it, then your argument was never that valid to begin with.

I’m sure on day one he’ll round up all the Mussies, day two the Jews, and day three the blacks. He’ll shackle them all on the front lawn of Mara Largo, and force them to watch him and Melania eat their crepes and croissant breakfast poolside.

Most people here dont know because they were kids, or not even born. They only know the “Regan highlight reel” of great speeches, and happy events from the 80s.
They have no clue how many people likened him to a mad Hitler wannabe that will start WW3 and wanted poor people to die in the streets of AIDS, and other nonsense.

And it started during the 76 run. By 80 it had become epic trying to portray him as an insane old man who would nuke the world. H. W was part of it

You left out the illegal Hispanics to mow their lawn, clean their homes, pools and bathrooms.
Then, they take in the French and Italian chefs to prepare their personal food and for their voter galas.

Concur with your post above.
Many of our current issues began with President George H.W. Bush.
That man was almost certainly foisted upon us by the GOPe back in the day.
I do not believe President Ronald W. Reagan would have opted to select him as a running mate by his own choice.

Sounds like a nice life! Since I’m aspirational rather than envious, I hope one day to have an Italian chef to prepare my meals! I already have a Hispanic cleaning woman. She supports Trump.

Yup. I remember the anti-nuke themed tunes coming out, all because Reagan “dared” to stand up to the Soviets.

Germans questioned after listening to Hitlers rants often came back saying they could not remember what he said but it was a great speech.

My Anglo Saxon wife could be a chef. I make great stews and have been grilling food outside for 5 decades.
Our Hispanic gardener and cleaning lady are citizens, and we helped them become citizens. I helped our garener to start his business and to get a home run.
Both of them and their spouses will vote for Trump. They own their homes and pay taxes like the rest of us. Our gardener has a teenage son and daughter and does not want them to go to Iraq/Afghanistan to fight a left wing war.
