These new Trump poll numbers should absolutely terrify Republicans [correction: GOPe Pubs]
Washington Post ^ | 2/29/2016 | Greg Sargent

Posted on 02/29/2016 8:52:34 AM PST by catnipman

If Republicans are going to have any hope of stopping the runaway train otherwise known as Donald Trump, it may rest on their ability to limit the breadth of his appeal. A single alternative to Trump — most likely Marco Rubio — could conceivably coalesce enough support among well educated, relatively affluent, more moderate Republicans

Free speech exists only so long as you seig heil the political savior.

You can join us or shut up. Get off of Free Republic if you can't handle Candidate Trump. It s over the fat lady sings tomorrow. If you continue your TDS invective I hope you get the zot. Hang out at DU where you can go on all the Anti Trump tirades your heart desires.

Where has Trump said this? I hear a lot of you Trump followers hanging assumptions about what he is going to do based on nothing more than wishful thinking and personal deduction.

Trump has explained his technique but you don't like it. He doesn't do politics as usual. He's a negotiator. You never show your cards in a negotiation. You let the other guy sweat and trick him into showing his cards. Trump isn't going to warn congress what he'll do if they block the wall, he's going to hit them like a ton of bricks.

That's how the game is played.

Mussolini used to stand on a cement box and do the same thing.

DRINK!

Join or shut up?

Thanks for making my entire point about you people.

It’s not about the Constitution or liberty for you people - you got your king, your messiah to put upon the throne - and either we seig-heil your savior with you - or you will seek to silence us for daring to oppose your monarch.

You know, it wasn’t so much Trump himself that turned me off from even considering casting a vote for him if he ended up the nominee -

- It was seig-heiling fanatics like yourself that sound absolutely no different than the Marxist Leftists that wanted to silence and punish anyone who dared to question or oppose their vaunted political messiah.

It’s 2008 all over again. Only for you - it’s Trump instead of Obama.

What a fool you are to think this is just about Trump. It is way bigger than that. What another out of touch idiot. Trump is the match, not the fuel. Little man sit down and shut up.

Trump's not working deals with Congress yet. Right now, the deal he's working is with the voters.

If we don't close the borders there isn't going to be a Constitution. The USA will be invaded by millions of leftist voters and - once they have enough of them (look at the elections from 2000 on you can see how close we are now) - absorbed by the globalist collective.

Cruz is pretty good on immigration but he just didn't make the cut as a candidate. If there's a Super Tuesday miracle and he bounces back I'll put up a Cruz yard sign, campaign for him and vote for him.

But barring a miracle Trump is going to be the nominee, and that's a good thing because he's got the best chance of beating Hillary.

Oh Pardon me, I forgot that we're not a Representative Republic anymore and that your king - er… "president" will simply govern via "secret negotiating" and doesn't need to show Congress or the people his cards or warn us what he is going to do if Congress and the courts dare oppose his plans.

Pretty much the Pen and Phone Dictatorship that you folks get mad about when we point out that is what you people want.

And like I said, as you perfectly illustrated, you folks want a king.

Well, you are going to get your wish, and all the consequences that come with it. And I will be damned to support and seig-heil that.

Little man sit down and shut up.

Tell you what big guy - MAKE ME SHUT UP.

You think you are all that? You think you can tell people who do not support your guy or question his candidacy that we have to shut up and sit down??

You're no different than the Marxists who tell me the same thing when I dare question their messiah. Go ahead. Make me shut up.

Try it. Go ahead. I'm waiting.

Come make me shut up.

Look, I am warning you for your own good. If I can read the tea leaves correctly the zot hammer is coming out soon. The TDS has been put up with by the Free Republic management as long as it was a horse race. You have legitimate reason to express yourself. After tomorrow you’re are just being destructive. It isn’t me, I think Jim Robinson has had enough. So take this as a heads up.

Trump's not working deals with Congress yet. Right now, the deal he's working is with the voters.

He's given me no reason to vote FOR him outside of what he has done to turn the Ruling Class Establishment on it's head and he's self-funding his campaign so he has skin in the game.

Outside of that, He's given me nothing concrete outside of his bombast to look at and analyze as viable.

Yes, he brought the illegal invasion to the fore of attention. Great. His plan to deal with it makes a nice slogan and appeals to base instincts, but I have to hear or see how any of that will be done in any realistic fashion. When questioned on specifics Trump gets agitated and simply repeats that he will build it bigger, without any specifics on how he is going to do that.

His rabid followers on the other hand, have given me every reason I now oppose him, and strangely for similar reasons I opposed Ron Paul and Obama in 2008.

He'll show them when the time is ripe. That isn't today. Only a fool gives the enemy a whole year to prepare their defenses.

Well, you are going to get your wish, and all the consequences that come with it. And I will be damned to support and seig-heil that.

Take it down a notch.

“Is the GOPe nuts?”

Just TOTALLY desperate.

Nonetheless, it also shows how evil they are for pushing a lightweight like Marco Rubio for President of the United States simply to save their own hides. I could throw a dart at a list of the heads of households on my street and 9 out of 10 of them would be more qualified and make a better President than Marco Rubio, including me.

Trump's an opportunist, riding a wave of long-simmering anger to propel his campaign. Slogans and appeals to base instincts are the tools for that.

You will just illustrate that free political speech is as dead as the republic (on a Conservative forum no less) and that you rabid Trump people are actually no different than the rabid supporters are for Obama, Hillary or Sanders.

I think this board is a microcosm of segments of society - and as such, it does not bode well for liberty existing in any capacity for much longer. The mob will get what the mob wants, and if the mob wants to make their man king, limit speech, guns and rights to privacy - the mob will get what it wants. Whether it’s Trump or Hillary - the mobs at both ends are not too different in the intolerant camp.

Like I said - and think about this - what you are illustrating is that what you want is a king, not a president. What you demand is obedience. You demand silence if we do not support and agree with your chosen political messiah.

If Mr. Robinson and his mods want me gone because of the way I post, they have every right to do so. This is their house.

If Free Republic has become the House of Trump, instead of a forum of Conservative principles, and no dissent of Trump is allowed - I will actually leave on my own accord, dust the sand from my feet - and never look back or darken the door here again.

I watched several forums get destroyed by rabid Ron Paul Mob Zombies in 2008 who said and advocated the same stuff you directed at me tonight. History repeats I guess, just a different political savior.

Well you go ahead and vote for hope and change. I want specifics because I do not trust your candidate will be able to do what he says.

No butt head try to listen. There is total freedom of speech. There are a lot of outlets where you can discuss how to take out Trump. I suggested the DU. Go there and express yourself.

You and your ilk have had 9 months to trash Trump. It didn’t work. The die is cast the frivolous braying and carping is getting in the way. It is a practical matter.

‘Total freedom of speech’ eh?

So long as we say nothing negative about Trump or dare question Trump - we have total freedom of speech. Perhaps you might advocate a ‘free speech’ zone here at FR. Just make sure it is at least 500 threads away from any discussion of Trump and his plans for being President.

You make me laugh. You are also the fella who has a reading comprehension problem.

I said: “If Free Republic has become the House of Trump, instead of a forum of Conservative principles, and no dissent of Trump is allowed - I will actually leave on my own accord, dust the sand from my feet - and never look back or darken the door here again.”

So if that is indeed the case, have JR and the Mods post that policy and the rest of us who are not rabid Trump supporters will indeed go elsewhere.
