Trump Disavows David Duke Endorsement
The Hill ^ | Sunday, February 28, 2016 | Rebecca Savransky

Posted on 02/28/2016 10:34:00 AM PST by kristinn

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump disavowed white nationalist and former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke in a tweet Sunday.

"As I stated at the press conference on Friday regarding David Duke- I disavow."

Earlier Sunday morning, Trump avoided a question about whether he'd condemn Duke's racism.

The GOP front-runner said on CNN's "State of the Union" he didn't know anything about Duke and would need to research his connections before deciding whether he would condemn them.

"I have to look at the group. I don't know what group you're talking about," he said. "You wouldn't want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about."

See my post immediately above. Tapper/CNN “pushed” the story. David Duke is on record as saying he did NOT endorse Trump. It was all a trap to try to grab airwaves and anti-Trump on a rather slow newsday.

Where has the man been living to not know who David Duke is? Not to mention having to try to figure out if the group was a good group or not does the man do no research whatsoever. But then again he can’t even tell us how many years has been audited in a row he just throws random numbers each time he speaks so I guess ultimately he just refuses to be pinned down with little things like facts

-------

I forgot all about David Duke - a minor nobody from 20 years ago's elections. In fact Trump denounced Duke 15 years ago when the Reform party was around saying he did not want to associate with that party. He probably also forgot about him too.

Hitery Clinton and Burney Sanders weighed in today and said it was disgusting that Trump associates with the KKK. I don’t seen to recall them or any other democrat saying a disparaging word about their very real former Grand Dragon of the KKK by the name of Robert Byrd. He was considered the grand ole man of the party and they bowed down to him.

Elite Establishments have a way of creating blinders that keep them safe from reality...

Great ping work and link lists, sunkenciv. I wonder if people know how much time and energy goes into work like that.

I highly recommend your ping list!

Trump smacks David Duke, as opposed to the entire DNC sucking up to KKK Byrd even after the year 2000.

Yeah, insiders know all about David Duke, etc. We already know Trump’s no insider.

“So only pro trump articles allowed in breaking?”

After tomorrow... that’s a great idea.

Presuming Trump nails it tomorrow, wouldn’t it be nice if Free Republic STOPPED looking like a democrat website determined to destroy the Republican candidate? Just a thought, there.

Thanks AW!M. Some do, and I appreciate their kind remarks. There's a residue of dungbeetles who instead speculate on the color of my upper body wardrobe and nurse their grudges.

These racist tactics are right out of the Democrat play book.

Do you remember the Dems using the noose dragging behind the pick-up truck video and the black churches burning against GWB?

The Dems pull this racist crap every four years. Apparently Cruz & Rubio have learned by watching their example.

Reproduced below is a comment that I posted on The Hill website as part of the discussion of the original article there. It was deleted by the moderators.

In my experience, all racial/ethnic groups engage in substantial self-segregation and promotion of their own interests. If it is said not to be okay for Whites and/or Christians to engage in such self-segregation and self-promotion, while it is okay for non-Whites and/or non-Christians to self-segregate and self-promote, how is this double standard at all acceptable? The answer is simply that this is a strategy by those on the Left to displace and marginalize the White Christian majority, take what they have, and reduce them to minority status. Anyone who resists this attempt is dismissed for propaganda purposes as a White supremacist, racist, xenophobe, etc. It can therefore be seen that the ultimate goal of multiculturalism is not acceptance, tolerance, and inclusiveness; but rather it is the acquisition of power by taking power from those who have it and giving it to those who don’t. This strategy comes straight from the Marxist playbook of Saul Alinsky, Frank Marshall Davis, Richard Cloward, and Frances Fox Piven (all influences on Obama). It is therefore a rational strategy to resist this attempt by advocating, promoting, and defending the interests of White Christians. If this is all that David Duke is doing these days, then he is no different from most of Donald Trump’s other supporters.

No, he got 39 percent of the vote for governor in 1991.

No, there was about ten years before EWE’s last election and his entering prison. Republicans in LA tried to get GWB to release EWE, but GWB refused.

“After he refused to disavow them.... lol”

He had to wait until his marketing team told him how the endorsement was trending among the customer base.

Again, we see he doesn’t actually have any principles. Doesn’t take that many to disavow the KKK, but Trump failed even that modest test.

My guess is that anything on network TV has a far greater potential to be either selectively quoted if not sneakily video or sound-edited and redistributed (and thus cause far more damage to his campaign) than a Twitter post. I’ve seen enough examples of the former to know that’s what I’d do in his situation; I put NOTHING past liberal news outlets.
