CNN anchor Jake Tapper asks Donald Trump 3 times if he would condemn David Duke and the KKK

CNN anchor Jake Tapper repeatedly asked Donald Trump on Sunday to denounce David Duke's support for his candidacy, but Trump insisted he didn't know anything about about the former KKK grand wizard.

"Will you unequivocally condemn David Duke and say that you don't want his vote and that of other white supremacists in this election?" Tapper asked Trump on "State of the Union."

But Trump, the Republican presidential frontrunner, said he didn't have enough information to answer the question:

I don't know anything about David Duke, OK? I don't know anything about what you're even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So I don't know. I mean, I don't know — did he endorse me or what's going on? Because I know nothing about David Duke. I know nothing about white supremacists. And so you're asking me a question that I'm supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about.

BuzzFeed reported last week that Duke, a prominent white nationalist, urged his supporters to back Trump. Duke was quoted saying on his radio show that "voting against Donald Trump at this point is really treason to your heritage."

On his Sunday show, Tapper continued to press Trump on the subject.

"Even if you don't know about their endorsement, there are these groups and individuals endorsing you. Would you just say unequivocally that you condemn them and you don't want their support?" he asked Trump.

But Trump again insisted again he didn't know about Duke:

I have to look at the group. I mean, I don't know what group you're talking about. You wouldn't want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them.

Me: "So Trump had to be updated by one of his trusted advisors when Trump was against and certainly knew who David Duke was by name"

You: You don't know that. Now get lost.

So you are saying that Trump was either lying back in 2000 when he most certainly knew who Duke was and what the KKK was and was all about and condemned David Duke by name and his association with the KKK; FWIW rightly pointing out then that they were a racist organization, Trump giving Duke's somewhat welcomed entry into the Reform Party, in great part one of the main reasons for Trump dissociating with the Reform Party, or that he is lying now or suffers from extreme memory loss and has to have a trusted advisor to not only remind him who David Duke is - was then back in 2000 and still is today in 2016, but also remind to Trump what he said earlier?

But In February, 2000, Donald Trump revealed that he knew enough about Duke to point out that the Klan member's entourage is "not company I wish to keep."

At the time, Trump was considering running for the presidency on the Reform Party ticket. He ultimately refused to go for the nomination, citing the party's troubling connections.

"So the Reform Party now includes a Klansman, Mr. Duke, a neo-Nazi, Mr. Buchanan, and a communist, Ms. Fulani. This is not company I wish to keep," Trump said.

I told you to get lost. I’ll make it clear, don’t post to me again.

What? Posting the truth about Trump hurts you and violates your Trump/logic free “safe space”?

I will post a response to any of your stupid statements posted here any dammed time I choose to.

You can choose to ignore me if you want, you can call me nasty names if that’s your best defense or you could, if you have the intellectual mettle, engage me in an honest and intellectual debate on the issues, which I would actually appreciate; but you will not ever silence me.

Again, are you denying that contrary to your assumption that Trump’s trusted advisors had to inform Trump on who David Duke, that Trump never heard of him or doesn’t know who he is runs contrary to the fact that Trump knew who Duke was in 2000 and called him out by name as a KKK supporter, a racist and someone Trump didn’t want to be associated with back then?

You truly are daft ... Trump has denounced Duke in the past, but he’s not going to do it again on the MSM’s terms ... if you are going to keep persisting in being intellectually dishonest , then I think debating this matter any further will be an exercise in futility ...
