"This shows that Iran, even after the nuclear agreement, is continuing to aid terrorism," says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry "extremely disturbed" by offer PM: Nations of the world must confront and condemn this.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday an Iranian offer to compensate the families of Palestinians terrorists killed in a wave of attacks on Israelis, proves Iran continues to "aid terrorism" even after the landmark nuclear deal reached between Tehran and Western powers last year.
His comments come a day after Iran's ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Fathali, said that Iran would pay $7,000 to the families of Palestinian terrorists to "enable the Palestinian people to stay in their land and confront the occupier."
Following Foreign Ministry criticism of the announcement, Netanyahu also addressed the issue, saying, "This shows that Iran, even after the nuclear agreement, is continuing to aid terrorism ... This is something that the nations of the world must confront and condemn and assist Israel -- and other countries, of course -- in repelling."
Netanyahu spoke ahead of a meeting with the visiting Bulgarian prime minister.
Netanyahu was a vehement opponent of last year's nuclear deal, in part because it did not address Iran's support of terrorist groups posing a direct threat to Israel. Netanyahu warned Iran would use the billions of dollars in sanctions relief to continue financing terrorism.
Despite the deep skepticism from Netanyahu and other regional players, the U.S. tried to promote the deal as the beginning of a new chapter in relations with the Islamic republic.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who negotiated the Iran deal, said he was "extremely disturbed" by the compensation offer.
"That's completely inappropriate and seems to lend some sort of credibility to that violence ... and I think it's the wrong choice by Iran," Kerry told the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Der!
And we gave them the money to do it. Thanks, Obama & Kerry
To Netanyahu, Kerry and other Kafirs, it might seem like terrorism, but to Muslims it is Jihad against the Infidel and the families of the Jihadists who do what Allah and Muhammad want done, should be supported by other Muslims. - Tom
They are not paying them, WE ARE., (150 BILLION)
PING
“Thanks, John Kerry!”
TRUE!
That's what sent us to war with Iraq, that and their signaled willingness to ignore UN resolutions on all the above.
If the Iranians break their "deal" (and they already are no doubt), they'll be in a similar posture to Saddam's when he triggered the Iraq War.
Iran has clearly demonstrated over the course of many years that it is at war with Israel. As such, Israel should respond in a way that makes it more costly for Iran to wage this war against it.
On a separate note, wouldn’t it be a terrible shame if some of Iran’s refineries spontaneously caught on fire or blew up?
