"If he hadn't inherited $200 million, you know where [Donald] Trump would be? Selling watches in Manhattan."
It was Marco Rubio's big moment, the one that was supposed to damage the GOP front-runner. It wasn't a bad line. The zinger illuminated that Trump wasn't self-made. It made him seem like the avatar of New York's worst values--a street hustler from pre-Giuliani Times Square.
Rubio's riposte got a laugh, but that was it. But he administered his blow too quickly, after a dizzying oppo dump of Trumpian facts--bankruptcies, lawsuits against Trump University, hiring illegal workers and so on. Like a hormonal teenager with control issues, Rubio blurted them out so quickly that the fusillade fell flat.

Your problem is that you can’t see beyond your preconceived notions. They battered Donald repeatedly, sticking it to him on one issue after the oterh, and all they got back was platitudes and insults.
Of course, in the playground world of the Trumpkins, that means Trump was brilliant and the other two were terrible.
Well, recess is over.
What the twin retards didn't get is that Trump was just doing the backstroke in his element. A couple of middle school girls from Santiago De Cuba and Calgary.
Yes it did backfire! They over did it tonight. Neither one are presidential material at all.
Trump is a politician. Thereâs no sense claiming he isnât.>>> true but he aint a lawyer thk god
So much for him inheriting all his wealth and just coasting.
Yes, Marco didn't tell the whole story, especially about how Trump's dad spotted Donald a few million to start his real-estate ventures. Donald parlayed it into a sizable stack all on his own and paid back the loan to his dad.
By the time Donald inherited his portion of the estate, he was already financially independent.
They were massive out here in the 80/90s.
"I thought I was going to throw up when Trump got so bent out of shape about V. Fox said the F word......what a hypocrite that filthy mouthed Trump is."
And, if you say one more comment about Trumps filthy mouth, I'll Google you 20 more expletive deleted's from Dick Nixon's Watergate tapes. Warning, Nixon will be for starters. Google is my friend. Then, I will give you expletives from President Zer0, Vice President Joe Biden, Vice President Dick Cheney, Sen. John Kerry, Sen. John McCain, President George W. Bush, President Jimmy Carter, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, President Lyndon B. Johnson and President Harry S. Truman.
So, have your throw up bucket ready. I warn you.
Good for you.
His first investments were in an area of New York City that nobody else would touch. His old man thought he was crazy.
He saw something in that area, and barged ahead.
He made a killing and was off to the races.
Cruz and Rubio had no choice but to attack. It’s hail mary time for them.
“Trump’s current DC hotel project. It’s being built by illegals.”
This is a blatant lie.
He’s a politician, but not a lawyer. Whew.
Where does trust fund baby come into the calculation?
:)
Cruz beat Trump on the Clinton Foundation and they both beat him on the Trump University. Rubio and to a lesser extent Cruz beat Trump on the illegal workers. (That would have been even stronger had he pointed out the illegals currently working on Trump’s hotel in DC.)
Cruz exposed Trump’s real views on healthcare. All he could do was respond with some nonsensical, meaningless, and repetitive answer, then get called by Rubio on his repetitions.
All in all, Trump got bloodied.
Of course, his supporters think that whenever he insults someone, that means he was brilliant and showed how strong he was, but when the other candidates land blows on Donald, that proves that they’re little children and they are losers.
This is the cult of personality I’ve been talking about. It was dangerous around 0bama, and it’s equally dangerous around The Don.
So saith the infallible liberal media.
Now I have images in my mind of pygmies in canoes blowing bamboo darts at the uss constitution.
LOL
>>>His first investments
Self-funded of course..
:)
These guys have to do what they do. I don’t like it, but what choice did Rubio have? And that’s why folks ignore comments from him and Ted.
A lot of them know these stories. The candidates can’t pull the wool over people’s eyes like they used to.
Nope...you’ve got it wrong, again....
From the CRuz Bible....Whoppers -> CRuz Truths
As I understand it he borrowed $1 million from his dad. He bought property nobody would touch. He saw something there others didn’t and made a killing.
He paid his dad back and was on his way.
Yes, he got the loan, but that’s hardly inheriting a couple or three hundred million to make it.
Nah, Rubio would be selling his body as the Cuban Gigilo.
