WHO IS PARTICIPATING IN THE DEBATE? Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson; U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas; Ohio Gov. John Kasich; U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, and businessman Donald Trump.
WHO IS MODERATING THE DEBATE? Wolf Blitzer of CNN will moderate the debate. Telemundo's Maria Celeste Arrarás, conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt and CNN's Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash will also ask questions of the candidates.
HOW DID THE QUALIFY FOR THE DEBATE? Candidates needed to file a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission, be actively campaigning for the Republican nomination and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Have received support from at least 5 percent of those who attended the Republican Iowa caucuses.
- Have received at least 5 percent of the overall vote in the New Hampshire primary.
- Receive at least 5 percent of the overall vote in the South Carolina primary.
- Receive at least 5 percent support in the Nevada caucuses.

With Trump or Rubio, you get amnesty. So there’s no difference.
She needs to be exposed. Would love for a closet Trump supporter who was just part of the hired staff got a video of the fake shrieker and would be inclined to share. No way those sitting around the shrieker were not embarrassed by her over the top fake Rubio support. She seemed to have a special mic on.

This debate will help Trump. Every time the politicians attack him he gets stronger. A nice bump for Trump.

I’ve been here through this primary and I totally agree.
We may criticize Trump and praise our candidate but the Trump people are mean as snakes.
And so unoriginal.
I was on a thread earlier that was anti-Trump about his saying he read the Bible more than anyone.
What he actually said was not grammatical. He said, No one reads the Bible more than me.
Anyway, there were some truly funny and original posts on that thread.
Something the Trump supporters never seem to be able to do.
They do nasty and repetitive and that’s about it.

Yes, Cruz knows he has no chance to win the nomination and he also knows he will not win re-election to the Senate in 2018. He has revealed his true self to the people and it is not pretty.
I lurk in a lot of threads, and I have seen nasty, unfair and crude attacks against BlackFemaleArmyCaptain more than just about any other person here. I have been completely disgusted on many occasions. She does a better job of defending herself and her beliefs than I ever could so usually I just let her do it. Over many threads certain posters have established a pattern that is very difficult to defend.

Cruz is establishment. He’s just dispised because he can’t get along with anybody. He’ll never the nominee. And giggling, lip-smacking Rubio will not be the nominee. Stealing money from the State of Florida to finance his whoring around with the staff worker will be his un-doing. It’s probably what Romney had on him four years ago when he was being vetted as a VP pick.
No argument there, but Rubio is a politician and tonight he was everything people hate about politicians.
The three leading candidates were all bad tonight. None of them were clever enough to realize that if they stayed away from name calling and throwing dirt at each other, they would have emerged with a real boast.
I actually though Rubio might be bright enough to be the one that took that approach. Instead like all political hacks, he listened to his hack advisors and had all the insults and attacks ready to go.
