Texas senator Ted Cruz has infamously attacked Donald Trump for supposedly embodying "New York values."
Back in 1999, then-Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker took a torch of his own to New York values. In a notorious interview with Sports Illustrated, Rocker explained why he would hate to play for a New York ball club.

That’s an odd question?
I should be interested in what John Rocker thinks because...?
I thought he was a Herman Cain/ Ben Carson guy.
Pitcher Curt Schilling is a Trump fan I believe. Does anybody remember Carlton Fisk? He hit a home run right in front of me one night as I was sitting in back of the dugout. When he rounded the bases and headed for the dugout, I throw a peanut shell at him and it hit him in the leg. At least I think I did. This would have been around 1977. People didn’t care of you threw peanut shells at baseball players in those days. They also sold beer in the stands and didn’t ask for ID. I bought a lot of beer at Fenway Park when I was 15. They didn’t care so long as I paid the money. I think they were charging $1.25 for a plastic cup of Budweiser. That was a lot of money back then but I had a newspaper route and I could afford it.
