New England had or still has a significant Portuguese immigrant population and I wonder what they are thinking re politics today. The ones my wife and I met in the 70’s were kind, hardworking people (near Newport, Rhode Island).
Then again, Bridgeport, Conn. was a safe place and clean back then, Brown Un. wasn’t known as Arafat University, and there weren’t a lot of far-left Democrats in Congress as we see today.
The times they are a’changing and not for the better.
They’ve all been about “border policy and immigration reform”.
