The problem is, you offer the other side a window of opportunity. Issued would come before that court that might not be addressed again for decades.

You can’t chance that.

We have to be resolute, and replace with a Scalia type.

Things are already bad enough. We can’t let the SCOTUS go too.

No flame, just corrected it for you.

Or perhaps saying, there goes America. We can no longer have our way with them. But can the sleeping giant stay awake for long? We will bide our time until we can get over on them once again.

After all, it didn't take long after being attacked that they elected a Muslim President who now wants to import more and more Muslims.

As I have posted before, Sandoval would be an excellent choice, given that the we have NO leverage to pick a conservative justice because Obama is President, and he is the one who does the picking.

The fight over ideological control will come with the Ginsberg vacancy. If we win the Pres and Senate, we get our conservative. Lose either, and we don’t.

Sandoval is no less conservative than is Trump, and there is no particular reason to think that Trump would pick anyone more conservative than Sandoval.

What was my immediate response the first time I heard the senate planned to hold its ground on another supreme court nomination? They will definitely fold like cheap suits! I still think that is the most likely outcome. Why? Because the US Senate is chock full of GOPe squishes who actually fear a more conservative justice! They absolutely do not want another Scalia on the court and have nearly as much to lose as the Democrats in that regard.

Bottom line: Obama nominates a squish—welcome our new Supreme Court of the United States judge, Justice Squish!

Obama just wants to nominate someone the Republicans would catch flak over not approving so he can make them look bad if they refuse.

McConnell screwed this whole thing up. All he had to say was “you do your job under the constitution and we’ll do ours”, and then vote down every nominee Obama puts up.

Oh he is a Republican, but not conservative. Centrist gives that notion a reason to be put to bed.

You might want to check the latest. Fox tonight-Bret was reporting McConnell in talks to meet with barky to discuss nomination.

The post turtle took less than 72 hours to cave

They also reported Grassly reconsidering it also.

I’m sure Obama will grant your wish. Not.

Of course, would he appoint Scalia, there would be those on FR who would smell a rat and say no.

Sandoval is pro-choice,

Sandoval is a baby-killer.

expanded Medicaid, and oversaw Nevada’s construction of its own ObamaCare exchange

Sandoval is a communist.

Here's a big part of our problem. If the Republican Party were worth a damn at anything, this filth would never have managed to get itself elected dog catcher, much less governor, on the Republican label.

Sandoval looks pretty good on guns, one of my main issues.

The chalkmark against him is that Obama would consider nomination. That can only mean they have enough dirt on him to control him.

That’s because McConnell does not want a future Republican president to nominate a conservative! As I wrote, they absolutely do not want another Scalia on the court. The GOPe opposes originalism as much as the Democrats.

Prolly. Get some repubs to say "Gee, I'd consider that" then throw Sri at them (the Mystery Indian).
