Rick Scott officially being floated as a potential VP choice for Donald Trump
Florida Politics ^ | 2-23-2016 | Mitch Perry

On Monday, Rick Scott said he wasn’t ready to endorse in the Florida Presidential Primary election on March 15, but there are those who believe he might be leaning towards Donald Trump.

That speculation was sparked last month, when Scott penned an op-ed in USA Today, a column in which he wrote very favorably about the New York City business mogul.

I know Donald Trump personally, and while I currently have no plans to endorse a candidate before Florida’s March presidential primary, there is no doubt that Donald is a man who speaks and tweets his mind freely. But I don’t think his ability to give the most interesting interviews or speeches is the only thing that has him leading in the polls. I think he is capturing the frustration of many Americans after seven years of President Obama’s very intentional government takeover of the U.S. economy.

The quiet speculation broke out in the open on Tuesday, when The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza listed Scott on a short-list of possible vice presidential candidates that Trump might be contemplating as he continues to roll through the Republican primary and caucus calendar.

Like Trump, Scott was a lifelong nonpolitician until he opted to run for governor in 2010. Like Trump, Scott made a fortune in the private sector.

It will probably be Trump/Kasich. That would ensure Ohio for the GOP, and Kasich knows his way around Washington, having served in Congress and also dealt with the feds as governor.

That's pretty insightful. It seems also like Kasich is about the only one who really hasn't launched much of an attack on Trump and vice versa.

All those are good too. They are conservative enough, as much as I know them.

I really think Rick Scott has done an OUTSTANDING job for the economy of Florida.

He is hated by the media, and a whooooole lot of the brain dead voters mimic what the fake journalists say.

Identity politics is for the birds. A woman does not present herself tomy mind. Most are too PC to be viable. I like Sessions.

Well, Trump seems to have an electoral weak spot with the ladies.
The two I mentioned are exceptional conservatives and very capable.

Not according to the South Carolina voters. Trump won all the Demographics. Trump has no problem with women voters that I can see. Most of his strongest defenders here on FR are women and i’m among them. The hyperbole about women being insulted by Trump only applies to brainwashed Hillary supporters....the FemNazi crowd.

My feeling is Trump picks a soft RINO or a no namer.

Trumps ego is to big to share the ticket with a big name.

I am completely against any idea of a Trump and Cruz ticket at this juncture. I don’t like Cruz anymore, and in fact I have my suspicions that he would only remain a guy with grudges in his current Senate seat but I hope not.

I didn’t know who Rick Scott was when I first read this, though now that I read the details I recall some of this from the news.

But I am like some of the others here, Rick Scott drew a blank.

Look, at this juncture I will just wait and see who Trump decides. He is going to know who would be the best fit, I think unlike in the past he will pick a VP based on who can help him to get some important things done and not so much who will help him win the general.

Nor do I think, whoever Trump chooses will be someone he just shoves in the background like so many other Presidents. I think it will be about who can help him move his agendas, be actively involved in that and a person who would be involved in the deals and the fights and the chess moves and the communications et all, not just someone that is a flower in the vase for some general campaign.

So I do not think there is going to be someone named at this time for this very reason. I am not saying he will not pick from some of the other candidates, or pick someone who would be an active partner in his administration but ALSO someone who may help win a state. Both could be nice, it is just the first as a true lieutenant will take precedant not the later.

Who knows, maybe that is Rick Scott, like I said, I don’t know the guy. I don’t think Trump needs to pick a well known name such as a Palin or other.

As for my personal favorites, I am way over any idea of a Trump and Cruz ticket. It is more some of the Cruz supporters and the Beckers and Levin who have totally turned me off from that idea than Cruz himself, but I have had enough of the Nixonian Cruz and his preacher father as a mix and I don’t care what the jealous pompus Levin’s think about Trump can only get 35% of the base in the primary so he will lose the general when it is clear to me that Cruz gets less than that and Cruz is the one who without question would get massacred in the general and that Levin is really now attacking the Republican base which is clearly going Trump.

I have no idea who Trump will pick, these would only be my own ideas but actually if other names come up maybe they would make more sense and I just didn’t think of them.

How about Gingrich, or Giuliani, or some other business magnet, or Carson, or Huckabee, or ... sorry, I am tired.
Not Rubio after his obvious shift back to going along with the amnesty agenda.

I threw in some politicians there, but actually I would prefer a non-politician. Palin won’t work out as a VP, that would be a big mistake, but she should absolutely be thanked for her support and I see nothing dirty or corrupt about being thankful especially when a high five was welcomed at the time.

So I think Palin SHOULD get something. Seriously. Just not VP. And, again, personally I see nothing wrong in giving some thanks. But I have no idea what that would be. Or if she would even be interested in. But that is up to Trump, not some supporter like me. Part of the reason I am voting Trump is that I am convinced he will think it out and do what will work best for his agenda in office and that’s is good because what he is saying on the campaign trail is what I want to see in the agenda so whatever it takes.

I think a great VP should have some background in national security and or police services.

If Trump secures the Republican nomination, the best thing he could do to unite the voters is to ask Ted Cruz to be his Vice-President.
And prove that he was full of sh*t when he claimed that Cruz wasn't eligible?

In the polls I’ve seen he does better with men than women.
Against Hillary it would likely be a greater gap.
Of course the woman would have to be qualified.

“It will probably be Trump/Kasich”

Seriously.

What is the point of Trump at all if he is going to team with Uniparty squishes?

It would just confirm that Trump is not real and a big fake hype.
