Ted Cruz Up 8 Points In Latest Texas Poll
Breitbart ^ | 3 Feb 2016 | Jordan Schachtel

With Super Tuesday just one week away, Sen. Ted Cruz remains the favorite to win his home state, according to a new poll.

Cruz is polling well in Texas. A survey published Tuesday by the University of Texas/Texas Tribune says he is 8 points in front of rival Republican candidate Donald Trump, with 37 percent support to Trump’s 29 percent. Texas has the most delegates of any March 1 primary state.

They are trailed by Sen. Marco Rubio with 15 percent support, followed by Jeb Bush (who has now dropped out of the race) at 6 percent. Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) and Dr. Ben Carson trail the field with 5 and 4 percent respectively.

Tea Party supporters overwhelmingly favor Cruz, 56 percent to Trump’s 26 percent. Rubio, though he ran for the Senate as a Tea Party-backed candidate, only grabbed 8 percent of citizens who identified with the constitutional conservative group.

Trump struggled the most with younger voters, according to the poll. He secured only 10 percent support from voters aged 18-29. His best performing age bracket fell in the 45-64 range.

Rubio’s most favorable age group came from the 65+ bracket.

Cruz led all age groups, but performed best with voters aged 30-44.

“If Ted wins here, The Donald will be fit to be tied.
One can only imagine the degree of ridiculousness he will go to smear his opponent.”

Yeah, he might even put out intimidating mailers, lie about candidates dropping out, and lie about opponents’ positions.

We will let them revel in this bit of news to sooth their tormented souls.

Especially since the one they like to call Rump is going to open a can of whoopass in Nevada causing further consternation in the Croooze Camp.

I frankly can care less what your opinion of me is.

History is replete with examples of a people who attach themselves to a false political messiah who speaks to their base desires with great vile and little else.

I actually love what Trump has done to bash the Establishment and the media. But those guns now target Conservatives almost exclusively - and so do his followers.

So his time in the sun with me is over. But I did pick up on the fact that the insane euphoria of 2008 has transposed itself to Trump, and his rabid supporters are not much different than those who wanted Hope and Change.

UT Presidential Preference Poll - Feb 12-19, 2016

Sample size for likely GOP voters is n=407.

When respondents who were not considered likely voters are added in, the sample size increases to n=526, and the gap between Cruz and Trump narrows to 34 - 31.

Stick a fork in him

Yeah he was up 15 points, then 5 points, now 8 with this university poll but he has a week to go, and he's about to come in third in Nevada.

Seriously doubt Cruz can hold onto Texas for another week after today's loss.

Any presidential primary candidate who can't carry his own state won't get the nomination either. Right now it looks like Rubio and Kasich's campaigns effectively end next week.

And I just don't see Cruz getting an average 2/3 of the voter support of every GOP candidate who drops out, so it looks mighty like Trump will be the nominee.

I knew they hid the date of polling for a reason.

"The University of Texas/Texas Tribune Internet survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted from Feb. 12 to Feb. 19".

A lot has changed since the 20th. Cruz dirty tricks again, Staff firings, South Carolina, and probably Nevada. Through this one in the garbage.

True, but you’re going to go with “Massachusetts” as your final answer at FR?

Then don’t worry my opinion won’t change & you go right on insinuating and spewing the “Trump is Hitler” thang if it makes you feel “right”.
