Texas Sen. Ted Cruz didnât offer a confident response Sunday when asked if he was going to defeat Donald Trump in his own home state of Texas. When asked on Meet The Press by host Chuck Todd whether he was going to win Texas, Cruz responded with âI hope so.â
Worth noting, an internal campaign poll leaked to PPD last week showed Cruz trailing the national frontrunner in The Lone Star State by single digits. The interview comes after Cruz finished a disappointing third place in South Carolina. He did his best to put a spin on the fact he finished slightly behind Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and way behind Trump despite the electorate being nearly 7 in 10 evangelical Christians.

Cruz won’t win but you are delusional. Trump has the highest negatives of any candidate they have measured.
He won’t be President.

You’re dreaming.
That ship left a long time ago, as Mr. Trump showed his true colors... a leftist liberal.

You are the spokesperson for all Cruz voters?

Don’t forget, he IS a Senator....who has neglected his duty and rarely shows up in the Senate. Most folks don’t like stuff like that.
Look at Floriduh to back up what you are pointing out. The Floriduhians are not back up their Cuban Rubot0!

Why? What does Trump have to gain in doing that?
Perhaps the good will (and votes) of Cruz supporters who otherwise would sit home on election day if Cruz isn't the nominee?
We've seen that mentality day in, day out right here on FR.

No Cruz does not sound confident. I think Trump will likely end up with Texas. Cruz is on his farewell lap.

You should just read this thread, there are several Cruz supporters (and on many threads) that say they will support Trump. Sorry, but you will have to do a better job convincing them, not me.

I wonder if the meltdown of his campaign after the necessity of firing his campaign chair will still be hurting just a little more than a week on 1 March, the SEC primary in which TEXAS will be voting.
Reagan fired his campaign chair, John Sears, after he lost Iowa to George the Elder in 1980. It helped him a lot, and he won big in New Hampshire.
