That video is amazing. Not even mentioned in there is that Obama himself tried to join a filibuster against Alito. This act of being better than us is just an other scam that the media is blithely repeating.

So it should have been in the Congressional Record? Why doesn’t the government provide an internet search engine for all congressional records going back to the beginning?

Ted Kennedy first cooked up this shit casserole for Judge Bork. Now the democrats get to eat the leftovers. They should not complain.

I have to say the 'Rats are far more courageous than their Republican counterparts when it come to making a stand. Look how many of them voted for Obamacare and lost their seats as a result. I don't know that they did so because they were true believers, or thought Obama was so popular he would shield them, or even if they were paid for their votes out of some emergency slush fund. Whatever the case, you don't see the 'Rats go weak-kneed at the prospect of "being blamed" for taking a stand. They take the stand even if it means they lose their seats over it.
The GOP seems to think keeping their cushy jobs is more important than fighting for what they (or rather, the voters who elected them) believe in. the writers of the Declaration pledged their "lives, fortunes and sacred honor" for the support of the document. Sadly, I see the 'Rats more willing to do so now for what they believe in than the spineless GOP. The motto of the GOP should be "we pledge our lives, our fortune and our sacred honor!"*
* "As long as we don't get blamed for something".
