When asked whether he supported South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley’s decision to call for the Confederate battle flag to be taken down from out front of the State Capitol building, Trump said he did.
“I would take it down, yes,” the billionaire real estate mogul said. “I think they should put it in a museum and respect whatever it is you have to respect.”
Then, when asked what woman he would like to see on the new $10 bill, he responded — to laughter — “My mother.”
The questions came after Trump spoke outside his Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. There, Trump reiterated his offer to let President Obama play on the course, but said he hasn’t yet heard back from the White House.

Agree. This will have zero impact on voters.
Yeah his supporters at this point don’t care that he lies, and just says whatever is expedient. He has inoculated himself by calling others liars so his supporters don’t believe anything his opponents say.
The media and the Republican Loyalist and the Democrats (all the same really) will now be parsing every word Trump has spoken since 1960 and accenting each and ever one that might/could/ maybe/hopefully could damage him.
What they forget or still do not know is;
Trump voters hate the Republican party. They just hate media and the Democrats more.
That to me, sums up the Trump “Revolution”.
Could this hurt Trump with the racist vote he seems to be winning? Probably not, his supporters love him regardless of what he says.
Because Raphael “Ted” Cruz and Marco Rubio are liars.

I live in SC, I am from Indiana. I'm a "northerner"...yet I deeply believe taking the flag down from a CONFEDERATE cemetery to "please blacks" is a travesty. It is HISTORY!! One NEEDS the history lesson as a constant reminder of how to avoid tragedy while making decisions in the present and future. Anyone thinking taking the flag down at a cemetery is a good idea is misjudging people who understand the truth. Haley taking the Confederate flag from a Confederate memorial puts her in league with ISIS blowing up historical religeous artifacts. ...and for about the same thoughtless reasons. I voted for her, I will not do so again. (And somebody better get Trump up to speed on the truth).

As a Southerner and a supporter of the Confederate flag myself, I don’t care. I would not expect someone from New York to have much thought about the Confederate flag.
We can deal with that when sanity returns to the country.
What do the people of South Carolina expect after they voted in a governor who couldn’t care less about the Confederate flag, or American history.
American history is over for those people.
Now it is all about diversity, and, most importantly, smiling deeply when talking about diversity. And looking around with a beaming smile and having group hugs with representatives of all the races that now make up America. It’s really a great new world.
