Trump campaign poaches Koch staffers: report
The Hill ^ | February 21, 2016 | Bradford Richardson

Posted on 02/21/2016 1:27:37 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

The Donald Trump campaign began courting top staffers with the Koch-backed group Americans for Prosperity late last year, in order to bolster its ground game ahead of big primary nights in March, according to BuzzFeed News.

The billionaire businessman's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, is a former AFP state director whose intricate knowledge of New Hampshire paid dividends in that primary.

One top AFP staffer in a March primary state said he was approached by Lewandowski, who told him Trump "was for real. He's going all the way."

"Anecdotally, I'd say a lot of people have been approached," another source close to the group told BuzzFeed. "It’s not surprising. The staff is the best trained and most experienced."

BuzzFeed said the recruitment effort failed in several states, but the campaign was able to lure some people, especially those who had previous worked for the group but had moved on.

The Trump campaign's ground game was criticized after an underwhelming finish in the Iowa caucuses.

Trump admitted at the time that his campaign "could have done much better with the ground game."

Funny how the trumpanzee said were decring the Koch bros as leaders of the cheap labor express now applaude him hiring the same types who the Koch's use to push open borders. Maybe these guys coached trump on touch and go amnesty?

They won't see it.

“Trump admitted at the time that his campaign “could have done much better with the ground game.””

Fortunately, since Iowa doesn’t count for much delegate-wise and Trump was a close second, it was an inexpensive lesson for a novice politician like Trump. Based on the South Carolina results, looks like Trump corrected whatever failings his campaign may have had in Iowa.

allowing Democrats to spread speculation about Romney's finances.

They didn't speculate, they lied. They will lie anyway. No matter what he releases, they will frickin' lie about him, and not only democrats, but especially Cruz as well. Screw 'em.

#36 I’ve been around here long enough to know most of the players and the game they like to play.

If Trump wins this place will be a real hoot when all the Trumbies go all apocalypolic as
their false god is exposed as a life long liberal who gamed them so easily. Then proceeds to partner with Reid and Pelosi to roll Ryan and McConnell.

Most will just retread instead of facing their foolishness.

I went to he AFP web site and I do not see a position on immigration. Where is it that they pushed for amnesty? Can you post a reference?

A quote from The Hill, which itself is sourcing from Buzzfeed.

Gee, why don't you just cut out the Middleman and go straight to DU or Rinsed Prius? (but I repeat myself)

Incidentally,...there just might be some truth to this, but it is likely to be misquoted and or squeezed and stretched in various places to make it as horrible-sounding about Trump as it can.
