Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday challenged the premise of Donald Trump's promise to "make America great again," and asked if Trump knows how America ever became great in his closing pitch to South Carolinians.
Speaking in Myrtle Beach, Cruz launched into an extended diatribe about what he perceived as Trump's lackluster position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He followed it up with a list of Cruz's campaign promises and a stinging rebuke of Trump's singular message.
"We will see the economy explode, small businesses grow, young people coming out of school with three, four, five job opportunities. Wages going up. You know what? We're going to be winning so much we'll get tired of winning," Cruz said, mimicking Trump's message. "It's easy to say let's Make America Great Again, you can even print that on a baseball cap. The question to ask is, do you understand what made America great in the first place?"

So, the government actually owns everything and they let people and businesses keep some of what they earn - and therefore by definition less taxes 'costs' the government. Okay, I just fail to see it that way.
Incidentally, Cruz's 10% flat tax and 16% VAT tax really screws small businesses, helps hedge funds and generates less tax revenue that Trump's plan.
So, let's look at Trump's plan: It actually mirrors Reagan's plan fairly well, but it does include adjusted corporate taxes that will finally allow 2 - 3 trillion to be brought back into the country. And there... there my friend is how Trump's plan increases jobs and greater tax revenue while 'Making America Great Again' - but Cruz is a lawyer who runs his mouth so he would not understand business the way a man who built an empire understands business.
Cruzers think that ole Boots ‘n Belly was up there pontificating before Scalia with arm-waving and soaring rhetoric. Didn’t happen. Doesn’t matter, post after post will state how Cruz won Heller.
Cruz spoke to an empty Senate floor for nothing and wanted ‘legalization’ of all illegals - not deportation... permanent legal recognition.
The cap and slogan were a good idea. Seems the slogan of other politicians should be Make America Sleazier!
Wasn’t it Ted Cruz who decided to boycott Apple? Wait that was Trump. He doesn’t have ideas?
The thread is anti-Trump created by Cruz supporters. So when people reply the solution is to restrict free speech? Hillary or Democratic Underground would do that.
The point is Ted, not Trump, wore “the only principled conservative in the race” like a priestly garment. It kind of stinks now with all the crap he got on it.
The point is it is so ironic that Ted, not Trump, wrote a book titled “A Time For Truth” - while he lies on the campaign trail.
Are you OK with that?
Bald-faced lie.
...post after post will state how Cruz won Heller...
That’s a story that is quick NOT to be denied by his campaign. He did play a part, but darn sure not the SCOTUS in Court argument part.
Well, I read how Jim replied to you.
Turns out that you were the one who got politely spanked by the big man himself for your rancor and venom.
HA!
Trump’s campaign slogan is “Make America Great Again”.
Cruz’s campaign slogan is “TrusTED”.
Sounds like Trump’s is about the American people, but Cruz’s is about himself.
“... if you don’t agree with JR, get the hell of his website.”
No. My point is that it’s not cool to slander Jim’s #1 candidate. You can stay, but maybe don’t damn the host’s preferred candidate.
