MIAMI (CBSMiami) - South Florida's Jewish community is on edge over the odd behavior of two women.
"These two people came into one of the temples in the community. One, if not two, walked inside the temple," said Yona Lunger of the two Middle Eastern women in question.
A police report shows two women pulled up in silver Nissan Altima to Beth Israel at 770 W 40th St.
The driver remained silent while the passenger was standing just outside the car.
The woman that was standing outside the car asked, "Did you have services already?"
The people they engaged replied, "Yes."
Then the woman asked, "When are you saying Yizkor?"
The men found the question unusual because Yizkor is a prayer that is only used a few times a year such as Yom Kippur.
They replied, "We only use it a few times a year."
The woman then asked, "Do you also get together during the week?"
They replied, "Yes, in the evenings."
The man questioned didn't think anything of the whole incident until the following evening when his mother told him about a similar incident occurred.
Lunger, who is involved with the independent security agency that patrols the heavily Jewish neighborhoods of North Miami Beach, is very concerned about the women's actions.
A picture of what appears to be two Middle Eastern women who walked into several temples and engaged with temple members has circulated in community websites and newspapers.
"Showing the Koran, asking certain questions that raised concerns, enough to alert the police department," said Lunger.
A similar incident occurred in Miami Beach.
Again, two women pulled up in a car and asked similar questions about meeting times and services.
The police department issued a statement on the issue:
"North Miami Beach Police are in receipt of a suspicious incident at a temple in North Miami Beach. We ae working with multiple agencies to identify the people involved."
Lunger said it has set off alarms.
"Yeah, especially with what is going on in the Middle East, worldwide, international, London, France, Paris, everywhere," he said.

Did you see the end of the video where the reporter said the police talked to the women and no crime was committed....they were just ‘investigating’ different religions.
Nothing to see here....move along. (eyeroll)
So I read this yesterday. There was a follow up - woman said she was sick with cancer and wanted to explore other religions. Possible, but never heard a muslim do that. Then, another report mentioned on same type of bizarre encounter, but with different muslim women. NO WAY this is a coincidence.
Itâs like eating peanuts.
They just canât get enough of it!
____
Unless you have a peanut allergy, then you only eat one or two.
None, I just wonder about various groups of people when they become targets they want defenders of freedom to rescue them.
But nice try moron, just because may be critical it doesn’t make me rascist, but your statement does make you a liberal.
After, I am Jewish.
... sometimes “tourists”, unaware of the dangers, fall prey to gators, never to be seen again. All those pets that have gone missing and all.
Whatever happened to the Jewish Defense League?
Miami Beach Police had a similar incident recently but don*t believe the same women were involved.

Oh well. At least they weren’t rednecks.
They should arm themselves and be prepared for the worst.
Y’all shouldn’t send them off to milk the sea cows...
Video of the creepy women at my link. Her smile is a bit disturbing.
Just foing the recon and asking questions is an act of terrorism.
Today, the south Florida media all over is reporting this woman is dying of cancer and is just someone who loves everyone.
One interview I saw with her, she claimed to be “A muslim, a Christian and a Jew...”
In other words, this really really really sounds like SPIN MODE.
You did not write about various groups of people. You targeted these elderly Jews. Do you imagine yourself one of the defenders of freedom rescuing them, unless they vote Democrat that is ?
Mr. GG2 who is Jewish read this article and said to me “well has anybody asked them how voting for Obama is working out for them?” He also said if you show up in the Jewish community wearing a gun they look at you like you are out of your mind. But they don’t put two and two together.
Racist ? Does hating Jews because they primarily vote Democrat make one racist ? Does conservative mean one targeting elderly Jews because they primarily vote Democrat ? Is that a feature of your professed yiddishkeit ? Did you obtain that by reading the Torah ?
Even the most stable and old Jewish community is going to have a lot of strange faces passing through. That’s especially true of a traditional synagogue. Visiting students and scholars, fundraisers, medical professionals and patients, even travelers just looking to say Kaddish, etc. A lot of those strangers might be from Middle Eastern Jewish communities. Being initially welcoming is very difficult to overcome in such situations.
Appreciate that.
Still this situation doesn’t sound good.
How many times after the fact have we had people come forward with stories of advance, though unheeded, warnings.
