Trump has an incredible advantage because he's not judged based on his character, actions, past words, present words, or evidence that he's lied. He's selling and marketing without regard to veracity. Otherwise, how do we explain his ability to escape this obvious Clintonian hypocrisy at the link?

Let his accomplishments in life speak for itself and the same for you. :-)

This guy has made more private sector jobs in America than probably all the prior Presidents combined. That is not the sign and resume of an incompetent not flake.

Unlike politicians he has accomplished things in life.

Do you think Washington is both worried and jealous? I think they are.

The author can’t imagine a happy outcome for the party? What about this? Voters finally select a nominee who is popular with the base, aka a populist, instead of dragging another McCain or Romney across the finish line who despises said base and wouldn’t change Washington DC even if they won.

OH, but Rich you were telling us months ago Trump had no chance, then Rich you said he had peaked. These guys have not only been disgusting in their hatred and unwillingness to understand Trump but they have been wrong everywhere.

It is all well and good to stick up for the person you think will be best for America, but it gets tiresome to keep reading the anti-Trump rants where he is painted as the worse candidate in the world and all his supporters are ignorant fools.

I can not speak for others but for me I do not care if Trump is a conservative. As for me, I am escaping the “conservative plantation”, the one that politicians take for granted as if I had no where else to go.

I have seen the Republican party put up weak candidates that as weak as they were, should have won but for one reason, they were unwilling to fight the opposition, on anything.

I don’t care how “conservative” Cruz is, where has he been the past few years? Why hasn’t he been vocal about all the changes the Democrats have made in our country? I do not know his reasons for not being out front and vocal on these issues, but could he be afraid of standing up to the left?

Don’t tell me he said this, or he did that, because if he had, he would be the one being demonized by the left instead of Trump.

I am supporting Trump for one basic reason, he is not afraid to take on the left (and I guess the right).

I believe Trump is to the right of Sanders and Clinton (or any other Democrat that may end up running). I have supported non conservative Republicans in the past so see no real problem supporting Trump now.

So once and for all not all Trump supporters are ignorant of Trumps short coming, it is just that they do not matter.

Trump is the SUPERHERO of the private sector! Hes a card carrying NRA member. Embraces pursuit of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness through hard work and discipline. Wants to restore America back to National Sovereignty. Whats the problem?

Guys like Rich Lowery, Steve Hayes, Glenn Beck would rather have another weasel goldman sachs politician in charge. How is that been working out lately?

The best way to beat Trump is not even mentioned: do not battle Trump but take up Trump's issues, be flamboyant but more thoughtful and informed than Trump in stating them, blast Obama and the Left, and avoid Trump style obnoxiousness.

In effect, such a candidate would run in Trump's slipstream and then move ahead incrementally or when Trump stumbles. Cruz is trying to do this, but Trump and the other candidates are taking shots designed to hold him back.

If Trump wins the nomination outright, many Republican voters may stay home, and senators and members of the House up for reelection will probably scurry their own way, seeking cover from the loose cannon of a nominee.

Why would pubbie voters stay home? Would they consider the hildabutchbitch to be a better President? I know we have many FReepers state that they would never vote for Trump, and if that is really true, they should just leave the Country, because if the bitch became the pResident, and I ever knew a pubbie that refused to vote...

Donald Trump is running riot in the GOP china shop and gleefully tearing the place up.

Good. Screw the GOP.

To some degree the rise of Trump is a reflection of the desires to destroy Washington DC and the political cartel(s) of the uni-party.

His supporters don’t really care that he’s lied or flip flopped. They simply want the cartel destroyed, and are willing to take a chance, any chance, to make that happen.

What comes next is not knowable. But that alternative appears to be better to them than what would come next with a GOPe, which is essentially a Killery regime.
