Why we shouldn’t have them there...
Don’t tell Russia and they get hit.
Tell Russia and they get hit.

It was likely at the so-called cease fire Kerry arranged with Russia which was really about zones of control not peace ...

All kinds of mischief could be done with this information. Russia could tell the Kurds, and then the Kurds could make sure misinformation went to the Turks (assuming they don’t know where all our special forces are).
One could spread misinformation that a PKK leader is at such-and-such location and then the Turks come in and bomb the US special forces thinking they are hitting the PKK.
To: matt1234
Commonplace. NO worries here. Glad they are talking, either within or outside of official channels.
We definitely don't want DEVGRU/DELTA/CIA SAD/SOG getting into a surprise firefight with Alpha/FSB/OMON et. al-type operators.....in fact, they train with each other every once in a while.

This must be Kerry’s convoluted method of “de-conflicting”.

Have to disagree. If (big if) we are going to place men on the ground in an area where another power possesses air dominance and is actively bombing targets we need to let them know. Syria was a Soviet asset for decades and is a Russian asset now. Obama's decision to support the "rebels" created the invitation for Russia to come in full bore. We should not be there at all, but if we're going to double down on stupid and put men in harm's way we need to recognize who's the cop on that particular block.

So let me get this straight. US spec ops are helping rebel forces in Syria. The Russians are attacking rebel forces in Syria. The US told Russia where the US spec ops were located ? Obviously the Russian won’t strike then, but what about Syria government troops and Iranians fighting the rebels ? You got to feel sorry for those guys over there. The entire Syrian population probably knows where they are.

I would much rather US military heads coordinate with Russia in the goal of disintegrating ISIS and keeping Obama and his team out of the loop.

Exactly. This is not our fight, nor even our business. Our troops are being used as game tokens to advance unspoken agendas of undisclosed elites. None of this makes us safer or more secure.
Supporting the troops in this case is getting them out, or defining an objective reason for them to be there with achievable goals to back that reason.

Hi.
I understand the importance of communication between ALLIES, but there are NO allies in this theater of operations.
