MSNBC's choice to host Donald Trump in an exclusive town hall on Wednesday did not result in a ratings win against competitors CNN or Fox News.
During the 8pm hour, when MSNBC's Trump town hall was up against CNN's GOP town hall (which kicked off with Ben Carson), it was actually Fox News that had the highest total viewers, with 2.3 million, despite the fact that "The O'Reilly Factor" was helmed by a guest host, Eric Bolling. MSNBC's Trump town hall had 1.4 million total viewers, while the first hour of CNN's three-part town hall had 2.05 million viewers. CNN though, nearly doubled Fox News in the all important demo of 25-54 year-olds, with about 629,000 viewers compared to Fox's 373,000 viewers. MSNBC has 341,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo.
MSNBC scheduled the Trump town hall after CNN announced their two-night town hall, no doubt hoping that the presence of Trump could take a bite out of the competition.

The problem with your thinking is that you believe that Trump only has eyes for you. You have somehow convinced yourself that when he goes out at night, he’s just meeting old friends on the other side of town just to share a couple of drinks and a laugh, nothing more. Afterall, there is no one who loves Donald more than you because he gave you his word he was going to build that wonderful wall out in the country for you and the two of you will live happily ever after, free from the pests who raid your garden. That’s so sweet of him, isn’t it? He’s such a charmer...

Its going to very tough to get poor old Ronald to get on stage.
But of course you were trumping about the DONEald, who will win the 3rd grade WaaWaa spitin contest.
You better call up your attorney, the DONEald will be threatening to sue you for posting “Ted Cruz looks great as a leader”.

In a year after Trump has been in office for a month, it will bring you comfort.
It's a fact. The Republican nominee is going to have to attract most of the independents and probably a few democrats, or else Hillary wins the White House.
That's true whether the nominee is Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. Or anyone else.
The Reagan Coalition is going to have to be rebuilt.
I agree with you completely. Trump was sewing seeds in fertile ground for the crossover vote. The audience seemed mesmerized. I was surprised at how courteously he was treated. And to think that it was put together on very short notice. It was a brilliant move.
I would urge you to bookmark this post too. I am urging Cruz supporters to bookmark some of their posts so they can return and gain comfort after Trump has been sworn in.
“Iâve watched push his smear campaign against Ted Cruz whom he know he canât beat on issues of substance..”
LOL, Cruz has copied most of Trump’s policies, but not all so Trump’s are the most conservative in the field. Cruz attacked Trump first, behind closed doors like a coward. Trump just retaliated. You ignore Cruz’s lies, intimidation tactics, and attack ads - but voters see them. That’s why he hasn’t gained one bit.
The first night of the CNN Townhall was quite worthwhile watching - each candidate - Carson, Rubio, and Cruz - had about forty-five minutes on stage by himself and moderator Anderson Cooper, who did a fairly balanced job of asking his own questions mixed in with those of the audience, all of whom claimed to be undecided to various degrees - questions ranged from the personal (what’s your favorite hobby) to the profound (healthcare, ISIS) - in most cases the candidate had as much time as needed to give the answer he wanted - very few “let’s you and him fight” type questions - tonight Kasich, Bush, and Trump (with no doubt questions about how well he gets along with the Pope).....
There must be an MSM contest on to see who can write the most pretzel-logicked headlines about Trump. It’s like when he came in barely second in Iowa without hardly campaigning, and the press went wild over Rubio coming in a distant third.
“Trump is no leader. Trump stands for nothing except destroying good men like Cruz while praising the likes of Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer. Trump funds the Democrat party.”
Trump is still going to go third party so his girl Hillary will get elected. After all, he’ll want her as a guest for his 4th wedding! It’s gonna be YUGE!
A diatribe on judging others from the Cruz camp?
LMAO
I have to admit, I’m a piker in judging.
You folks do it by the state. You do remember New Hampshire right?
Enough with the lawyers. The country needs to be run like a business with responsible individuals who are held accountable for their decisions and actions. If they fail, they are fired. Further, eliminate all agencies and departments created since 1960.
I agree with the old saw, but I’ll bet we differ on the meaning here.
Cruz is going nowhere. Whether you or I like it, it’s true.
We are thus left with supporting our nominee or destroying our nominee for Hillary.
It was great to see him unfiltered. Did you notice how very sad he looked about Rubio’s charge that he did not speak Spanish?
I wonder how many viewers were liberal.
