MSNBC's Trump town hall falls to CNN and Fox News in the ratings

MSNBC's choice to host Donald Trump in an exclusive town hall on Wednesday did not result in a ratings win against competitors CNN or Fox News.

During the 8pm hour, when MSNBC's Trump town hall was up against CNN's GOP town hall (which kicked off with Ben Carson), it was actually Fox News that had the highest total viewers, with 2.3 million, despite the fact that "The O'Reilly Factor" was helmed by a guest host, Eric Bolling. MSNBC's Trump town hall had 1.4 million total viewers, while the first hour of CNN's three-part town hall had 2.05 million viewers. CNN though, nearly doubled Fox News in the all important demo of 25-54 year-olds, with about 629,000 viewers compared to Fox's 373,000 viewers. MSNBC has 341,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo.

MSNBC scheduled the Trump town hall after CNN announced their two-night town hall, no doubt hoping that the presence of Trump could take a bite out of the competition.

CNN did a great job, so glad I watched.

The only reason I ever tuned to MSNBC was to watch Keith Olbermann’s head explode anytime the Left was having a bad day.

Not exactly glowing ratings for anyone. Doubt last night changed anybody’s minds on who they support.

Trump is no leader. Teump stands for nothing except destroying good men like Cruz while praising the likes of Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer. Trump funds the Democrat party.

People think a slick-talking lawyer is a leader. They seem to miss the lack of leadership qualities. Sad!

You could put Kate Upton in the buff on PMSNBC and rational people still would not watch it.

Well, I guess we’ll need to compare the numbers from tonight with last nights numbers.

My thinking exactly....

"Doubt last night changed anybody’s minds on who they support."

We're way passed that. At this point you can change the "undecided" column to the "none of your business" column.

Have you been listening to Glenn Beck? Goodness, you are devoid of facts - truthful facts.

destroying good men like Cruz

You have got to be kidding. He is the most dishonest politicians in history. He is lying about Rubio today saying he shook hands with Obama. The guy is a natural liar. Never told a lie he didn’t like. Thank God American voters are smarter then you.

True. Somehow I just hope we have a miracle and the results turn out like this

Trump
Rubio
Carson
Kasich
Cruz
Bush

That would be best case scenario. I know it won’t be happening that way because of the Cruz Zombies have zero integrity, but I am still hoping.

Ted Cruz has destroyed himself.

I used to respect the guy. I used to want him to be on Trump’s ticket.

I used to think he would be a good follow on to Trump.

Cruz took care of that. He didn’t it since the first of the month too.

Cruz will never be anything more than a social outcast Senator.

Ted Cruz was great in last night’s Town Hall.

I liked the format for all the candidates in the Cruz/Rubio/Carson town hall. I will give credit to Anderson "D.B." Cooper for staying out of the way and letting us get to see a more personal side of the candidates.

It will be interesting to see tonight's town hall with Donald etc and if Cooper will not be attracted to Donald's bombastic flame or if he will be put to sleep by the Perry Como of the GOP candidates, the Jebster.
