the “division” the press is trying to exploit is whether we should hold hearings or not either way a new justice will not be seated

Thankfully, my Senator is Sessions, so that call doesn’t need to be made.

Maybe an email in support...

Exactly. The left has perfect lock-step political force. The right has a splintered group of ninnies.

The best hope then, is that Republican Party suffers massive losses up and down the tickets. Let the Republican Party go through total political bloodbath in 2016 and watch the GOPe pols, poobahs, pundits, and operatives finally get their comeuppance!

Then watch an authentic and honest truly conservative grassroots movement spring up and take its rightful place.

Don't think so. If that happens, we officially become a one-party state.

Think USSR circa 1930: Hillary as 'Stalin in a pantsuit'. Only a matter of time until potential members of a 'honest truly conservative grassroots movement' get herded on railcars and shipped to the gulags.

I guess the GOPe needs to “get this off the table”.

Well, it is not like your strategy has not been tried before and it failed. The only thing Americans got was more Donkeys doing more bad legislation — except on steroids.

We can hope to primary out some of the weak links, but in destroying the current Republican Party, you may just ensure that the only ruling party is the Democrats forever. I don't see any good results here. A strong, conservative Republican POTUS might provide leadership for the gutless, spineless, clueless congressional Republicans. But, I am afraid the current leaders in both House and Senate are worthless hacks with no ability other than cave and give the Donkeys everything they want. They will tell you they're doing this because POTUS is black and it is an election years so they don't want to antagonize the moderates and fence sitters by appearing confrontational. Grrrrrr.

A Republican party that grumbles while complying is little different than a Democrat party that complies willingly. The results are the same. At least by stamping the worthless GOP out of existence we could have the satisfaction that we fired some useless SOBs who did not deserve their cushy jobs. It's not much, but better than nothing. Sometimes, petty revenge is all that's left. It's like knowing you are mortally wounded but you try to take down as many of the traitorous enemy as you can.

Exactly. You never can count on what politicians say to figure out what they'll actually do. Most of them are duplicitous in their public comments.

But playing the media game and pandering to the base in an election year, is what these guys do for a living. There is absolutely no way these guys will give an Obama Supreme Court nominee a hearing or an up or down vote in the Senate until a new president is elected. If they do, they are bigger fools than the electorate already views them.

The opposition party will call them obstructionists but so what? demoCRAPS to it all the time when it favors their side. Quit worrying about the other side calling you names and do your jobs to "represent" your constituent base. That base doesn't want a lifelong liberal on the court to replace Scalia just so the politicians in the Senate can save face in front of Obama.

Obama says ‘boo’... and the cave starts immediately. Disgusting! * * * TRUMP 2016 * * *

Exactly, the GOP wonders why Trump is so popular and it's right in front of them.

U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk hesitates on Obama Supreme Court nominee hearings

CHICAGO - U.S. Senator Mark Kirk has yet to weigh in on whether he thinks the Senate majority should hold hearings on an Obama nomination to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by Justice Antonin Scalia’s sudden death over the weekend.

The nation is divided along ideological lines on the issue, and the most conservative Republican senators support delay considering the nomination until after a new president is in office in January 2017. The New York Times reports on two conservative senators’ responses:

Senator Rob Portman, Republican of Ohio, who faces re-election this year, said in a statement that the Senate should follow what he called “common practice” to stop acting on lifetime appointments during the last year of a presidential term. Senator Patrick J. Toomey, Republican of Pennsylvania, agreed, leaving nearly every vulnerable Republican incumbent backing Mr. McConnell’s pledge.

Illinois’ Senator Mark Kirk isn’t conservative, and he is facing re-election challenges in the March 15th primary and the November General Election. His opposition in the GOP primary is from the right and his opposition in the General will be from the Democrats’ Left.

In my view, the victory of Thad Cochran over Chris McDaniel was a classic Pyrrhic victory. For me and millions of like minded people (I'd like to think I'm a typical FR conservative), that was the final straw that broke the camel's back.

The tactics used to defeat McDaniel were so over the top, proving that their political survival was more important than the rule of law and keeping this country strong.

I vowed on that day that I would never hold my nose again for an establishment candidate. Cruz is my #1, Trump is #2, and there is no #3. If that leads to Hillary or Bernie as POTUS, you're going to be wasting your breath if you try and blame me. The only difference between a GOPe POTUS and Hillary/Bernie is...is...give me a couple of hours and I might think of one.

Ok, instead of another wise Latina on the bench, we get another Souter. Bitte, digest that...

Those of us in IL know this. But in the famous words of Jagger and Richards, “you can’t always get what you want”.

The choice then, as it is now, was between a Democrat who would vote the liberal position 100% of the time, and Mark Kirk, who will do so about 50% of the time.

Conservatives held their nose once again last time to put this turn-coat into office and many Illinois voters will no longer vote for Kirk, no matter what. Many will just skip the ballot check off for either candidate and leave it unchecked.

Though Kirk says he is a Republican, to say he is a Republican in name only (RINO) would be putting it mildly.

According to Conservative Review, Kirk has a liberty score of 29 percent. The purpose of the group’s liberty score is to “determine if a politician is supporting conservative principles separating their rhetoric from reality.”

Don’t worry. It’s going to take Obama awhile to find a Transgender, Socialist, Pro Abortion, Anti 2nd Amendment nominee.

There is no real split. They are going to confirm whoever the Sultan sends up and the Constitution, already in tatters, will be simply burned one piece at a time. It would only require a few months and some changes in the SC calendar to declare much of the Constitution unConstitutional or declare the various totalitarian projects Constitutional. We, the population of the Republica have already mostly accepted that the USSC is the ruling Oligarchy and that whatever USSC decrees is immutable Law. Half a century of modern education has eliminated any sense of history for most of the people and they cannot understand what has happened in the past, what has worked and what has not worked, what the consequences of actions and systems have been in the past and must be in the present and future. The country is done. If there are enough men left in the country then it will all devolve into chaos and violence with uncertain outcome. If there are insufficient of them left left then we will go simply into compliant mindless servitude. Either way famine and the killing is coming.

That, at this point, would be turning the country permanently over to the Totalitarian Democrat Left. There will be no return short of bloody civil war which I do not expect to happen. Part of giving the Sultan his judge will be to get an Amnesty case to the Court very quickly, in weeks or months, and get Amnesty and Citizenship enshrined as an ironclad necessity required by some article or other. That gives the Democrats their universal majority vote for almost all national offices and will lead to shariah being Law in many cities.
