South Carolina television stations pull [Cruz] anti-Rubio ad amid legal concerns
CNN ^

Posted on 02/15/2016 7:42:36 PM PST by springwater13

Some South Carolina television stations are pulling a negative television advertisement from a group supporting Ted Cruz because of the claims it makes against Marco Rubio.

A spot from Stand for Truth Inc., a shadowy super PAC formed just a few months ago, had spent $125,000 to air the spot titled "Sanctuary" on Iowa television and on digital platforms, according to advertising tracker CMAG/Kantar Media. The group has not shared much information about its advertising plans, and is using a high number of companies to receive and direct donations. The group had begun to air the ads in South Carolina before the legal team for one media company, Media General, determined it had to be pulled.

The decision by television stations was first reported by The New York Times.

It is not uncommon for campaigns to try and litigate the fairness of attack advertisements with television stations, though the advertiser usually does not order a spot to be removed from the airwaves. And there is no evidence that other South Carolina television representatives find the ad similarly objectionable.

Randy Ingram, the general manager for WBTW, the CBS affiliate in Myrtle Beach, said the company received a cease-and-desist order and that Media General, which also operates a CBS and NBC affiliate in the Upstate and Charleston areas, decided to honor it.

"I'm not sure why legal decides we run something different," Ingram said, declining to say who specifically had requested the ad be pulled. He said Stand for Truth replaced "Sanctuary" with a different spot in its advertising rotation.

The “filth”?

Don’t you remember that the GOOPe has instructed you to use the word “sleaze” today in your attacks against Cruz?

Maybe Filth is the word that you are supposed to use tomorrow.

Suddenly the word “sleaze” shows up in posts by different names. I smell the GOPe.

The GOPe is applying the JournoList approach to Free Republic.

I wonder what word they are testing for tomorrow’s attacks on Cruz?

Nothing wrong with the ad:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhXu3JemZLs

Rubio's lawyers sent a cease and desist to all the TV stations and a single one complied.

Suck it, Trump worshipers.

Rubio is a lying little weasel, but this kind of ultra-sleazy Cruz PAC crap is EXACTLY what people are so fed up with and one of the main reasons Trump is running away with the nomination.

It’s truly disappointing that the more desperate Cruz gets, the sleazier he gets. A few weeks ago I had bought into the myth that Cruz was different, but my disillusion has long since been shattered. It’s also looking to me like the sleazier Cruz gets, the more he’s going to lose votes as more and more people figure out he’s really just another politician and a really nasty one at that.

I also just figured out why Kasich is doing so well: he’s the default guy for voters turned off by all the lying and mud-slinging candidates.

Good job using the word “sleaze” today. When exactly did you GOPe types poll-test it? What word do we have to look forward to tomorrow?

“A lot of Trump supporters don’t understand the difference between a PAC and a candidate’s campaign.”

Of course we do. And we also understand that Trump HAS NO PACS! NONE! XERO! NADA!

You are supposed to use the word “sleaze”, not “skeaze”. Did you not get the GOPe memo, or did you hit the wrong key on your computer?

I’m not sure they are GOPe, that is GOPe is not behind trump, i think the clinton’s are, just like Bill was behind Perot in ‘92.

Think of it, its classic clinton presidential strategy, a rich-self funded populist runs and splits the opposition so a clinton can win with less than 50%. Its worked for two clinton presidencies before, and we know he’s a friend of the clintons.

“It’s not Cruz. It’s a PAC.”

yep, that’s how the sleazeball game works: the PACs do the dirty work.

And guess what? Trump HAS NO PACs! NONE! ZERO! NADA!

It’s one reason Trump is so popular and running away with the nomination: people are sick to death of the nasty way politics are being run by candidates like Cruz and the rest.

I would rather support a candidate who represents millions of people than one who only represents himself. I am not into politicians buying their office.

You found an opensecrets page for Ted Cruz? Wow really? Isn’t that the guy running for POTUS?? The Shame!

Can you believe the nerve of that guy running against Trump? He must personally be costing the Donald MILLION$$ just to counter him.

He should give up and go away because he doesn’t have as many casino’s as the Donald. I’ve always said, “If a man can’t buy his own presidency, he doesn’t deserve to run.”

I see you are using the word “sleazy” today to attack Cruz. Are you paid by Rove or the GOPe itself?
