Some South Carolina television stations are pulling a negative television advertisement from a group supporting Ted Cruz because of the claims it makes against Marco Rubio.
A spot from Stand for Truth Inc., a shadowy super PAC formed just a few months ago, had spent $125,000 to air the spot titled "Sanctuary" on Iowa television and on digital platforms, according to advertising tracker CMAG/Kantar Media. The group has not shared much information about its advertising plans, and is using a high number of companies to receive and direct donations. The group had begun to air the ads in South Carolina before the legal team for one media company, Media General, determined it had to be pulled.
The decision by television stations was first reported by The New York Times.
It is not uncommon for campaigns to try and litigate the fairness of attack advertisements with television stations, though the advertiser usually does not order a spot to be removed from the airwaves. And there is no evidence that other South Carolina television representatives find the ad similarly objectionable.
Randy Ingram, the general manager for WBTW, the CBS affiliate in Myrtle Beach, said the company received a cease-and-desist order and that Media General, which also operates a CBS and NBC affiliate in the Upstate and Charleston areas, decided to honor it.
"I'm not sure why legal decides we run something different," Ingram said, declining to say who specifically had requested the ad be pulled. He said Stand for Truth replaced "Sanctuary" with a different spot in its advertising rotation.

The ad got pulled because Ted Cruz is just as responsible as Marco Rubio for “sanctuary cities”. The ad conflates the Gang of 8 bill and ongoing sanctuary cities. They’re separate issues and the ad doesn’t make that clear.
I don’t know who you are or why you are posting this to me.
My comment is in NO WAY connected to what you are writing.
I made NO comment about pulling any ad. Perhaps you are mixing me up with someone else. If so, no problem. If not, please bug off.
I support Mr. Trump for many reasons:
1 I am conservative, and he is the closest to that of all the candidates. (IMO, Cruz is a sneaky, lying, owned globalist lawyer) You obviously see it differently, which is your right, of course. I wonât try to convince you otherwise.
2 We have seen the GOPe bully, threaten, withhold funding, and God knows what else if politicians donât do exactly as they command.
Remember Karl Rove going crazy when the people wanted Christine OâDonnell, not the other old establishment guy? He aggressively smeared her and wiped her out.
If this nation has even the slimmest chance of restoration, it is going to take someone with even more backbone than the firmly entrenched GOPe. Someone who does not cower to bullies, someone who doesnât need their âsell-us-your-soul, you belong to us nowâ money.
I canât think of a better candidate than Mr. Trump. Brilliant IQ, so astute, so determined to restoring his country. He loves his country MORE than he loves his money. He has a wonderful heart. And he takes no !@@# off of anybody. No time for lying, sneaky traitors.
What a perfect, tailor-made warrior. I care NOT about anything else anyone says about him, his character, etc. Heâs absolutely PERFECT for this history-making role.
If, for some reason, the GOPe manage to steal it from him, the country is finished. But at least he will be able to look his children and his grandchildren in the eye and say âI gave it my all, I tried my best to leave you a wonderful country, once again.â
God Bless Mr. Trump, every Trump family member, every staff member, and may God deliver him from the major evil we are witnessing today.
What was the outcome regarding the lawsuits by students that got scammed at Trump University? why was the lawsuit between Trump and Univsion over the Miss Universe Pageant kept confidential? what happened? who was affected by the Trump bankruptcy lawsuits? you know Trump has interest in Goldman Sachs, he is owned by the banks which is why he supports bank bailouts.
Teddy is lying ,cheating , and scamming for Jesus .
I think it's refreshing to see a Conservative play hardball.
Go Cruz.
I still support Trump though.
Is Miss Universe pageant. like a New York Hedge fund Tax cheat running dirty money laundry PAC to fund smear ads so outrageous they are getting pulled ?..
Why can't phony Ted run on ideas rather than baseless lies and half truths ???
“It’s bad when a Cruz ad is so dishonest that television stations refuse to air it because of legal. Sleazy Cruz at it again!”
I don’t think I’ve asked you this before: When the Gang of Trump makes a coordinated attack, is it initiated at the cell level or do you have to wait for a signal to be flashed from headquarters?
CRuz and Beck are sharing the meltdown.
This guy just gets CReepier and CReepier.
Cruz lies a lot.
Cruz sleaze aside. That clip from Meet the Press may be considered infringement, or some kind of endorsement by NBC. Stupid of camp Cruz to use it, but they do that kind of stuff all the time.
Nope...that would be the CRuzbots. One howls and the pack comes running in for the attack....usually around 4 a.m., from what I’ve heard.
Does this ad not have the, “I’m Ted Cruz and I approve this message?”
“... everybody knows Cruz lies.”
FR founder Jim Robinson doesn’t think “Cruz lies.”
What was the ad?....has anyone seen it?
Do you act on your own or is the Trump campaign responsible for everything you say since you support him?
Hmm... Stand For Truth, Inc. www.standfortruthpac.com Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.
Guess that negates the “Sleazy Cruz is at it again” argument....
